McGinn is better than Allan.
Correct, but they’re completely different players. Don’t know why people are comparing them like for like.
Because the rumour is Allan will be involved in a potential transfer between Celtic and Hibs for McGinn.

The answer to the question would be what player would Lennon prefer.
Both are decent Scottish players that at the moment would be squad players.

Exactly. And season tickets sold out. It would be a monumental slap in the face for the fans.
That's absolute pish.
Good argument. You've convinced me. We know the club will take that money and buy two quality left backs. We won't even miss him.

Signing McGinn makes no sense to me. He will not be a first pick at this point, plays in an area where we already have too many players and is reportedly costing £3m.

Give him another season of games in the top flight with Hibs, and if he continues to develop sign him on a pre-contract in January.

Use that £3m towards a player in a position that will definitely strengthen us.
Agree entirely

We have until Thursday 11pm to register out squad for the Alashkert games. Then 2 more weeks for the Rosenborg/ reykjavik matches ..

UEFA – Player Registration deadlines

* 5 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the first qualifying round;

* 19 July 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the second qualifying round;

* 2 August 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the third qualifying round;

* 16 August 2018 (24.00CET) for all matches in the play-offs;

* 3 September 2018 (24.00CET) for all further matches from the first match in
the group stage up to and including the final.

Also remember the English PL window shuts on Fri 9th August for buying players. Can still sell until 31st August as most of Europe including Scotland

Allen has actually done very well for Celtic by proxy so it's inadvertently been a worthwhile signing. I wouldn't mind him as a late substitute for Rogic in most Scottish matches. Would kill tired defences with precision passes to advancing players but if a good offer is made I can also understand selling.

If an improvement is sought in midfield then Serbia, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Rep is a good source of u-23 talent, and the odd unnoticed gem in Bundesliga2. McGinn seems sound but not an improvement and paying anything instead of precontract is bad business.

RB alternative to Lustig is important if Gamboa (who is decent without being outstanding) is never to play. Paying him to waste in reserves is idiotic and possibly spiteful. I'd also transfer list Christie, Bitton and Sinclair. Buy affordable quality from now on. 4 qualifying rounds demands it.

We need to make moves soon surely?

This cannot be another summer when we don't improve markedly as a team.
It’s 1 July, the World Cup is on and we’ve already broken our transfer record on a striker.
Look who you are replying to. :lol:

We'll be seeing variations on it twice a day till September.

Every transfer window my biggest hope is that the Huddleboard will take him on loan for the duration. :pray:

I know that. Just thinking their hit to miss ratio is pretty average. Is that because the market they are shopping in and the more expensive players we have bought, which have been their more succesful signings, are a sign of what they can do? Or is there a chance Brendan's reputation from Liverpool, and Congerton's fae all his clubs, are deserved. Considering in his second season at the club the team was still full of players who were here before Rodgers arrived and thete is rumours of our better players leaving it is concerning.
