Few people on twitter saying we’ve offered a contract to Andreas Bjelland

Danish centre half from Brentford after a bit of wiki scanning.
Rejected a new contract offer from Brentford apparently.

I like Allan as a player. I don't think he's got the fitness and power to be in a Rodgers team.

He’s not tall enough either.

Offered a new deal by Brentford and knocked it back.

Rated by people down there.

Andreas Bjelland has won 28 caps for Denmark
Denmark international defender Andreas Bjelland has left Brentford after rejecting a new contract.
The 29-year-old spent three seasons with the Championship club, but injury restricted him to 65 appearances.
Bjelland played 35 games last season and was a key man as Brentford finished ninth, six points off the play-offs.
Head coach Dean Smith told the club website: "We are all disappointed we could not agree a deal, as last season he had shown the quality he possesses."

I know you have inside info and you are close to Allan but he isn't good enough. If he is seen as the answer the question must be "Who can be a squad player behind Brown, NtCham, Rogic and McGregor?" To me that is pretty disappointing as we should always be looking to improve the starting XI. Or aybe they fancy a squad player who'll be happy to be here and won't have to worry about getting his head turned.
Am not for or against it.

Only passing the info on re the McGinn & Allan deal a mentioned yesterday

Just acknowledging you being in a position to know more about whats going on than I am but also giving my opinion on things.

Don't think that he is any faster than Sviatchenko, that will get some people om here after him. Better at reading the game and a bit stronger though. When fit he is a first choice for Denmark ahead og Andreas Christensen, Chelsea and Jannick Vestergaard, that German Team. So he got some quality, had a few injury problems in the past nyt seems to over it in general

brendan ruled ings out a couple of days ago

Quote:

BRENDAN RODGERS has played down speculation linking Celtic with a move for Liverpool’s Danny Ings.

The Hoops boss insists he is not in the market for another striker this summer.

But he has opened up on his plans to bring in replacements for Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong.

Ings is set to leave Anfield this summer after enduring successive injury problems that have kept him out of action for lengthy periods of time.

The striker signed for the Reds back in 2015 while Rodgers was still manager.

But the boss has now dismissed speculation linking him with Ings after some fans urged him to make a move.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Danny (Ings) is a fantastic player and has been really, really unfortunate for a few years with injury but I have got three strikers at the moment and we don’t need anymore.

“We just signed young Odsonne Edouard on a permanent deal and he is a class act.

“We also have Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths so with those three we are well covered.

“We were very keen to make the move permanent, he’s a real class act, how he moves, the goals he gets, and his football intelligence.

“It’s a great move by the club to sign him on a permanent deal.

“This boy has still got a lot of improvement and learning to do but he’s a fantastic young talent.”

He added: “We know we need to strengthen.

“We lost Stuart Armstrong and Patrick Roberts who were really influential players for us in all the years I have been here.

“We need to at least replace that and if we can also add to the squad.”

He’d be fourth choice.
Not of Dembele goes he wouldn’t...
Then he’d be a stupidly expensive third choice.
