I wonder if Brendan is having a good look at what he has before splashing any cash, if players that where out on loan and players coming through the ranks are good enough to fill the gaps then surely that's better than spending big money ? if guys coming through the ranks aren't going to be given a chance then there is no point in spending money developing them, i would rather see a homegrown player make his mark than some has been or unknown costing us 3m and a huge wage.

We must have some talent ready to make the move up, if we don't there is a problem somewhere. Brendan has stated several times that he wants to develop players and we need to trust him and get right behind them when they break through, yes we would all like to see big name players at parkhead but the money involved means its difficult for us to do, the money we have wasted on players that haven't made any impact is scary, we need to give our own players a chance at some point and if they can't make the jump up then it has cost us nothing and if they turn out like Tierney and Ajer we have multi million pound quality players for free (development costs and wages obviously) and a very bright future.
All well & good but this takes ages, Rogic was one of these signings & he's just extended for 5 years - I think that'll be rare. Ajer, Dembele, NtCham & Edouard are similar.
Trying to be in this camp are guys like Hendry, Kouassi, Morgan, Christie, Jozo, Bain.

KT is obviously home bred & has a 6 year contract, he's seriously already too good for Everton - that's going to be very rare. McGregor & Forrest are similar.
Trying to be in this camp are Miller, Ralston, Johnston, Aitchison.

Then we've got older players brought in, normally for a fee like Sinclair, Boyata, Hayes, Compper, Griffiths, Gordon, DDV

I think that's 25 players.

Given that ALL of these players HAVE been given a chance, some more than others obviously & that a fair few ARE homebred or at least Scottish, or cheap then we're doing pretty well in the local market (Armstrong profit of £5m). We have the most home bred players in the league I'm sure.

We'll continue with the strategy imo, looking at the Hull RWB on a free or McGinn at £2m(ish), low risk freebies or well known local players.

We should easily have enough for a well established high fee player or 2, but I think that'll be like NtCham & Edouard.

After selling Armstrong, maybe we will buy another £8 million+ player this window.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas (in Oz). Brendan speaking about replacing Armstrong and Paddy. Patience is such a tough virtue.

Pukki
Pukki wasn't over £3million. Lennon said he was far less than the fee reported and at the time that was anywhere between £2million-£2.75million.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He’s either Agathe or Gamboa :twitch:
The best that can be said about gamboa is that he's moderately quick... for everything else he is gash.

Agathe was very very quick, couldnt really cross the ball but you could never fault the amount of effort he put in
Better defender than he's generally given credit for too.
I always bring this up, but I can't remember him ever letting his man go down the flank - maybe let early crosses in, but was very rarely beat down his flank - if my memory serves.
His end product was quite poor - agreed poor crosser - but flung in the odd very good ball now and again. Again if memory serves he fired over the cross for Sutton vs Ajax?

So RB, CM, and RW look to be coming in at some point. Not to mention Brendan specifically mentioning replacing Roberts, which seems to be like it won’t simply be Forrest backup. Replace Jozo and sign a LB backup, that’s a winner of a window.

Btw, how do I change my name?

Thompson in Stuttgart, Henrik in Seville etc

Loved "meep meep" when he was here.

Would kill to have him here now

I wasn’t slagging Agathe (one my favourite Celtic players ever), the wee emoji was next to Gamboa (not one of my favourite Celtic players ever).
