If Tierney continues to develop and avoids serious injury he’s not going to be here for more than a couple of years.
He didn’t sign up with a big Agent down south simply to increase his wage at Celtic Park.

Much as the boy loves Celtic he will move on at some time if, as I say, he continues to develop. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

If he goes he will leave with my best wishes. Although I have no doubt some of our ‘supporters’ will boo him if he returns to Celtic Park just like they did with Dalglish and Larsson.

Considering retirement

Tierney can stay for TIAR and still have time to go down to England and test himself there. Given that we're going to keep getting bids for him, that might be the best scenario in the long term. Of course, I'd be delighted if he stayed at Celtic until he retires (and joins manager Scott Brown's backroom staff).

Larsson was booed ? :ponder:
One fan next to me called him a black b......

He left the ground seconds later or he was going home on a stretcher.

99.99% of fans never booed him though and it will be the same when KT leaves ( after the ten )

There were a few, who were quickly rounded upon. I think the technical term is arseholes.

I wonder if Brendan is having a good look at what he has before splashing any cash, if players that where out on loan and players coming through the ranks are good enough to fill the gaps then surely that's better than spending big money ? if guys coming through the ranks aren't going to be given a chance then there is no point in spending money developing them, i would rather see a homegrown player make his mark than some has been or unknown costing us 3m and a huge wage.

We must have some talent ready to make the move up, if we don't there is a problem somewhere. Brendan has stated several times that he wants to develop players and we need to trust him and get right behind them when they break through, yes we would all like to see big name players at parkhead but the money involved means its difficult for us to do, the money we have wasted on players that haven't made any impact is scary, we need to give our own players a chance at some point and if they can't make the jump up then it has cost us nothing and if they turn out like Tierney and Ajer we have multi million pound quality players for free (development costs and wages obviously) and a very bright future.

He wants to manage his local pub team eventually, I think he is exactly the type to stay with us for his whole career.

Getting noticed in the reserves

Caught the tail end of a Talksport's sports news update earlier this morning where they mentioned a player had just signed for PSV, that us, and several others made offers for. I didn't hear the name, however, having checked PSV news, looks like it's the young Spanish full back, Angelino, from Man City for a fee of around £5m...looks as though we are actively looking to spend money in this area.

What exactly is the point in this?
It’s actually quite an interesting topic seeing as the valuations for our players on this forum are wildly varied at the best of times.

In modern football, creating a squad that will rise in value so to allow future development is an important aspect to the game.
Not to mention the money going around in Football is changing the way we do business, sometimes making it harder, but also working in our favour due our proximity to England and frequent CL appearances.
