10 times less than Armstrong? Why would Hibs accept that?

Armstrong has won trophies, played in Europe and established himself at a big club.

What's McGinn done? Edit - won the SC

1 or 2 Euro games and can't get himself into the Scotland first 11

He's still to prove he can play at this level. Standing out at Hibs is a different level from making it with us.

Armstrong was a far better prospect than McGinn and we paid less than 2m for him.

He won the League Cup with St Mirren, the Scottish Cup with Hibernian and has nine Scotland caps, three more than Armstrong, despite being three years younger. It's not quite Iniesta obviously, but it's not like he's achieved nowt by age 23. Also a Championship medal and another cup final in there too, and clutch of other semi finals. That's more than Armstrong at the same age.

He's also got a very similar games/goals rate as Armstrong before he joined Celtic, but nine more caps at the same career point. The going rate for Armstrong in 2015 was £1.6m plus 10% of future profit.

Armstrong had six more months on his contract when we signed him than McGinn currently does. Hibs though, can probably afford to hold out for a bit more than DU can.

Was Armstrong almost out of contract when we signed him?

Hibs rate McGinn at around 5m which is madness. They’re still wanting 2.5m for someone who can sign a pre-contract in January.

We’d be mental to pay that for someone who is barely going to get a game.

Edit Sorry! Realised you mentioned he only had 6 months more

I'm no a big fan of McGinn as you know but there's no way Hibs would accept 750k McGinn whilst watching us ship a player ( in a similar contract situation with a year left) for 10 times that.

They'd easily get 2/3 million quid for McGinn by punting him down south. Main question is do we take the chance and lose out on him or step in and take him not how much we pay for it.

Not really that interesting this debate as I don't think he'll sign.

I hear what you’re saying and don’t expect Hibs to accept it.

Just think that’s all he’s worth

My stepchildren are both Brentford season ticket holders.

And they aren't children anymore, in their 20s so reasonable judges.

I asked both about Moses.

They said he was fantastic, a really great right winger.

Not so good defensively but used his pace to cover back.

Sounds more of a wing back but they thought he was excellent.
Sounds like Didier Agathe. Not the greatest defender but his pace got him out of trouble many times.
My first thought was saidy janko

Everton are weighing up a move for Celtic star Kieran Tierney.

Left-back Tierney, 21, has been identified by Everton as a potential long-term successor to Leighton Baines, 33.

And they are considering a move to make the impressive Scotland defender one of their big additions during new boss Marco Silva’s first transfer window.

Tierney has attracted interest from Manchester United in recent times, while Tottenham are also believed to be keen as a replacement for Danny Rose.

He only signed a new six-year deal with Celtic back in October but Everton are ready to test their resolve with a bid for their prized asset.

Baines has been at Goodison Park since 2007 but missed a large chunk of last season with injury.

He has been tipped to follow in Wayne Rooney's footsteps and move to the MLS this summer.

Chicago Fire and Philadelphia Union are both believed to be keen on the 33-year-old although Baines has no immediate plans to move on.

Good luck getting KT out of Celtic

Lawwell would need to drug him, tie him up, throw him in the back of a van and drive him at speed to Everton.

Even then, KT would escape and find his way home.

Aye. Plenty of appeal for him moving to Everton. Should avoid relegation easier with him in the team
