He was just on the video on Facebook there of the team coming off the bus, so might have asked Brendan. He's hardly going to tell him, though, is he?

He's there for us to have a look at him. Maybe play as a trialist in one of the games after his contract runs out.

They'll get a good look at him and be able to decide. Sensible.
Enough of this type of post! It doesnt contain any negativity at all :nono:
Careful now, common sense is banned on here. Can't wait til the schools go back.

PTT on twitter saying McGinn deal not happening.
Could be quite a complicated situation.

He's only got 1 year on his deal and Hibs are supposedly looking for a big fee (seen £3mill mentioned). We might be holding out until January, or threatening to. Especially if we know Mcginn wants to come to us, Hibs can agree fees all they like but they can't force him to sign for some shampooe English Championship team.

Or we don't rate him and were never interested. But the way PTT's worded that ("not happening") suggests there was something in the works that's now been cancelled.

Might be a whoosh as working in Asda has feck all to do with it but is the usual starter for ten stick to try and beat PTT with and have a dig at the Bhoy but he finds out more than most.

Brendan is hardly going to tell him - That is not to say others around the scene won't.

I saw Moses a bit when he was at Brentford too. I'd say that if he is 75% where he was then, he'll be best right back in Scotland by some distance.

Between 2012 and 2016 he played over 200 league games and was first choice in a very strong U20 international squad. He was very highly-rated.

If this guy hadn't been injured, he wouldn't be at Hull now and he'd be worth at least £20m in England. IF he is over his injuries and can prove to the medical team that there are no long-term worries then it is a no-brainer. We need a right back urgently and this guy was quality.

If you want to compare him to Flanagan - Flanagan made 70 appearances in 8 years, got 4 youth international caps and one full international friendly cap under Taylor and Hodgson respectively who were giving them out like sweeties and, since suffering a serious knee injury, has done nothing.

I don't understand why people seem to think we have to spend money to get quality. As others have said, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't for a whole variety of reasons irrespective of fee.

We have to face reality that Scotland is not an attractive environment for the quality of footballers that people are demanding. It is not even just as easy as rocking up with a big fee and a decent salary because our salaries are nothing compared to the EPL and are no more attractive than the English Championship. Our only selling points to quality footballers, frankly, are (limited) European football and a stepping stone to the EPL, but if they're already in that quality bracket they will be looking to head to the EPL (or other more attractive league) anyway.
No one actually thinks that we can compete with EPL teams. But for godsakes we are not Partizan Tirana either. The likes of Ajax and Anderlecht are able to get to scout across Europe and pick up players with fees. You say you don't have to spend money to get quality - but it does help. We spent years throwing money away whilst rummaging about the bargain bin with regards to the striker dept. We spend serious money on wages and fees for the likes of Dembele (yes I know technically he was a free transfer) and Edouard and that area is now one of strongest areas.

If this guy is the right back upgrade to Lustig then I'm seriously underwhelmed.
From what I saw of him, I think he will be a serious upgrade on Lustig IF he is over the injuries and I’d trust the medical team on that.

I have no idea about our scouting prowess (although I have my doubts about Congerton and, yes, we have signed a lot of dross over the past ten years) and I doubt anyone really has, but it is not as simple as you portray. Both Ajax and Anderlecht benefit from a more relaxed attitude to immigration for example and Ajax will benefit from being seen to be in a more competitive league and a more favourable tax regime. Our infrastructure and support may have the potential to make us European premier league members but right now we are firmly in the third division and rapidly losing touch with even the second division. That - in my opinion - is cold, harsh reality. Not what I want or like, but there you go...frankly, the sooner we leave Scottish football and join a European league, the better.

Haven’t there been some studies which have shown that spending money is no guarantee of success?
Ajax and Anderlecht have a good record of scouting across Europe something that we most certainly could do. I'm not sure that the Belgian league is anymore attractive than ours and the if the Dutch league is, its hardly a massive upgrade.

As I said we cannot compete with the Big 5 countries and the likes of Russia or Turkey. But spending 4 or 5 million on players should not be beyond us when we got 8M to £10M for Van Dijk in January, £7M for Armstrong if you believe the media and a likely £15M plus for Moussa.

A player with two years out injured is a serious risk in a position that badly needs upgrading. Hope I'm wrong but I really think we can do better.

He goes to EVERY game - he will be in the know about some things.

He’s likely to pick up info out there. The squad all know him.

Plenty on here have broke stories before and as far as I know none of them work for Celtic FC so the Asda quip was just a cheap shot for what purpose ?
