Lennon was back home in Lurgan on Friday evening and apparently all but confirmed that McGinn would be a Celtic player this summer. Might be rubbish, might not.
Not saying this is shampooe, but normally the whole town knows when he's home and this is the first I've heard of it

Edit to say, I think its nailed on were signing McGinn
He was definitely in Belfast. Not a huge leap to think he'd visited home.

We won the treble and thats great. Rodgers performance is not in question here.

The idea that he can turn water into wine is, saying the likes of McGinn should not be questioned because BR is here is mince. We heard it all before with Hayes & Hendry.

Rodgers may be an excellent coach but he still needs proper players of good natural ability to work with if we are going to continue to progress
Hendry is just in the door and McGinn hasn't even signed yet.

How folk can write them off at this stage is laughable.

Looks like Boyata is definitely away according to a few sites.

https://readceltic.com/2018/06/25/lazio-have-e1-5m-contract-ready-for-dedryck-boyata/

Nice wee earner for him and a nice wee profit for us.

Yeah looks like he's away, but I'd previously seen a few reports that the fee would be around £7m.

Indeed they are. That one mentioned is a broadsheet but it doesn't mean much in Italy. Or in Scotland for that matter.

Dont think McGinn is what we need, dont see him improving to a level where he starts or contributes. Dont see what you guys rate in him.
McGinn was a stand out at both games I saw at Celtic park last season.
He was involved in everything positive about Hibs and scored the crucial
goals for them.
I see him as long term, and under proper guidance through Brendan and his backroom staff,
he would be a solid addition to the squad.

Fair enough. He's solid, sure. I'll be honest & say that what made the biggest impression on me abt McGinn was the game at Pittodrie where Hibs had their arses felt. They were on a bit of a run & guess they ran out of steam a bit.

I think he's a good player for Hibs - if he has developing to do then I reckon first team action will be more helpful for him. He would get a handful of chances with us if we were resting players. Should he get in through injuries to first XI it be sink or swim & I dont think thats fair on him. Christie, Scott Allan - these guys havent been given a chance and written off. They've disappeared in Lennoxtown's full-to-the-brim midfield specialty department, otherwise known as 'pre production'

Id just prefer us to be a bit canny with additions in this window - first team players are required.

No problem with Boyata going

I don’t want him and ajer to be our pairing going into CL

Need a barn storming mega bucks cents half please

As much as I’d like a super cooper new right back - a top notch centre half would be the berries

I'd be happier with Christie taking over Armstrongs role than sign McGinn. Keep Kouassi rotating him with Brown before European games. If we make 2 big signings my preference would be a quality right back and a right winger. Morgan looks like he plays on the left so we're a bit short on the right.

Not that I agree with this but I wonder if BR thinks he can mould McGinn into a right wing back with his running power and energy. Just don't see where he plays in our midfield.

Possibly because if Celtic did want him, that's who McGinn would want to go to, so they either negotiate a deal or end up having a player who might sit it out for Celtic to come back in in 6 months.
Is it not just that they want Scott Allan as part of the deal, hence the price would be different for Celtic from other clubs?
Bingo

If Rodgers signs McGinn to play right wingback we need to sack all the medical staff who failed to see just how unwell our manager is.

Hibs are due a large sell-on clause (30% rumoured) to St Mirren for McGinn. This means it makes more sense for Hibs to do a cash + player(s) deal with Celtic than just straight cash from Derby or whoever, as they would be losing a big chunk of that automatically.
