How can we seriously not sign a right winger? We’ve lost Roberts and Musonda, surely we have to replace them?
Why would we have to replace a guy who couldn't get a game?
And musonda was signed as a number 10. In fact both these guys combined apps can't have been high last season.

McGinn will do well for us.

It'll be nice to look back on this thread.
I hope he does but I don’t rate him at all. Where does he play in our midfield?
You heard any more on the potential deal?
I have never heard a supposed transfer with more conflicting information from various sources. Some say it’s definite and others say it’s definitely not. Most of these are fairly close to it as well

Interesting, cheers.

I get the impression he’s ours if we want him but he is not top of any list.

Dont think McGinn is what we need, dont see him improving to a level where he starts or contributes. Dont see what you guys rate in him.
McGinn was a stand out at both games I saw at Celtic park last season.
He was involved in everything positive about Hibs and scored the crucial
goals for them.
I see him as long term, and under proper guidance through Brendan and his backroom staff,
he would be a solid addition to the squad.

Hayes was outstanding against us and ciftci was good and look how they turned out. Just because McGinn has played well against us means nothing as it’s easy to play well when expectations are low. Koussi would be a poty candidate if at hibs and he is 6th choice at Celtic for 3 spots. Kamara at Dundee and killie midfielder have been arguably as good against us as McGinn and not many would sign them

Not for a first choice. But back up when we can move to a back three? I don't expect us to invest greatly in providing a back up left back. Not saying I wouldn't like better cover, but we have other priorities.
We wouldn’t be able to play McGregor, Edouard or Sinclair as a WB. Johnny Hayes possibly but don’t think he’s the answer either.

We’d get away with it in domestic games, not in Europe.

Cover at LB is essential
I would like to see us go for the lb for peru Yotun. Played against us for malmo, he is now at orlando city shouldnt cost more than 2-3m and he can also fill in at left mid and cdm.

I wouldn't mind signing McGinn. If the price for Armstrong is as reported and same with McGinn its hardly a massive gamble. He seems to be improving all the time. He didn't look out of place by any means after Hibs got promoted.

As famously said by a world cup winner, teams need water carriers too. The boy is a worker and he has goals from midfield in him. It'd be a tough ask getting into the side but that's up to him to force it.

If he was coming in as Rogic or Ntcham were leaving I'd be worried. That's not the case so I'd be happy to see how he gets on in a side with better players. I think he'd thrive but who knows.

I agree with Remy's take - Nobody other than those directly involved know what is going on and there are conflicting stories which I kind of like if I am honest as I prefer Celtic to do their business and nobody has a clue - Generally speaking when anything does come out a day or so in advance of an official announcement these days it is because Celtic want it out there.

As posted a few times I was told ages ago Brendan doesn't think McGinn is the answer so I can only think if he does pitch up at Celtic Park there has been a change of mind or within our budget they have decided he is worth a punt at the price negotiated - Reading between the lines at a Q&A Lennon said there was a price Hibs wanted for McGinn (which they won't get imo) but there was a different negotiable price if it was Celtic - The inference seemed to be Lennon would like his player to go to Celtic.

Personally I am still not convinced Brendan does want him but am 50/50 now that it could happen -

Tbh at this point in time I am more concerned about other much more crucial positions in the squad that need attended to. A Brown replacement is a big ask and we have at least another year if not two to sort that and even then if we are in the hunt for ten it would not surprise me if Brown is still the Captain as the guy just wants to play football and he could adapt his game to sit further back in front of the CB's.w

Anyways it is all speculation and as ever with Celtic what will be will be - Nobody taking flyers on any message boards will change or influence that.

New Everton boss Marco Silva could get rid of four Everton players - France midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, 28, Congo winger Yannick Bolasie, 29, Wales defender Ashley Williams, 33, and former England striker Wayne Rooney, 32. (Star)

I reckon BR will make a move for Williams....

I never have any info but I did hear over the weekend from someone who should be ITK that we have had an offer accepted (money plus Allen) and if McGinn wants to come then it's a done deal. However as a couple have said, there are people with what must be equally solid sources saying the opposite. So who knows.

His move to Everton has been an absolute disaster.

32 & is probably on something daft like 70 grand a week.

A couple of reasons why I doubt he will.

Surely, Lennon doesn’t dictate that we get a discount if we sign him?

If all the chat is about MCGinn, I wonder if Lee Congleton needs an assistant, as it sounds quite an easy shift.

If McGinn was first choice he would be signed already. Either we don't rate him/we don't want to pay price/he is fall back and we are looking at others (please delete as appropriate). Now can we get on with some decent made up rumours.

Decent/adequate lb cover might be hard to get. Not many players are going to sit on the bench waiting on \Tierney to get injured.

I think it’s more that they could probably get more by selling him to a championship club.

He isn’t likely to walk in to our first team, and would probably be a squad player for the first season.

Also, Hibs might think that he could develop more at Celtic and get them a bigger sell on percentage if he moves again, than if they just accepted a million or two more and went to Derby or a Nottingham Forest.

I assume Lenny will have discussed what is best for Hibs already.
