Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
He’s scored, on average, 5 goals a season across his career. He’s scored 10+ two out of nine career seasons. Don’t be citing his anamolous season at Celtic in 2016-17 as the norm. It’s far from it.
He’s averaged five goals a season if you include his teenage years where he made a handful of appearances per season! He’s got 23 goals in 98 games for Celtic - a ratio of almost 1 in 4 which is great for a midfielder. I’m not his biggest fan but we missed a goalscoring threat from midfield last season. 98 games in three and a half seasons at cp isn't that great though.

He’s scored 27 goals in 4 seasons at Celtic. 17 (60%) in one anamolous season. He’s been average the majority of the time. he’s not a natural double figure goalscoring midfielder - which was my point. We missed a goalscoring threat from midfield - because Stuart, when fit, was back to his preferred comfort zone of averageness.

Another project for Brendan and his backroom staff?
WYLIE WORK Celtic sign Ben Wylie from Linfield Rangers as ex-Gers striker David Healy hails ‘massive move’ to Hoops Reports claim the Ballymena youngster will join up with his Hoops team-mates at the start of July after impressing for Linfield's youth team last season
Spoiler: click to toggle By Chris Doyle CELTIC have landed a ‘massive move’ for Northern Irish teenager Ben Wylie from Linfield Rangers. Reports from Belfast Live claim that the Hoops have snapped up the Ballymena youngster. The 15-year old will put pen-to-paper some time next week before joining up with the Celtic squad at the start of July. The midfielder has joined from Linfield Rangers, the Belfast club’s youth side. Wylie has also starred for Northern Ireland at youth level and his performances have resulted in a host of teams trying to acquire his services. But it appears Brendan Rodgers has won the race for his signature and Linfield boss and ex-Rangers striker David Healy is not surprised a club like Celtic came calling. He said: “It is great to see Ben signing the contract with Celtic. He will head over in the next week or so to start his apprenticeship. “He was at Linfield for a number of years and anytime I watched him he always impressed. “He has played youth football at international level for the past couple of years and also played a big part in our youth cup final team. “Ben has always been held in high regard, and he has been watched by a number of clubs in England and Scotland. “He has had the chance to sign for a good club that will look after him and really develop him as a player, and we wish him every success. “Ben is a midfielder who is tidy on the ball. “He has a swagger about him, which is a good thing. He can play in numerous positions, and I hope he gets the chance to do that at Celtic because it will really bring him on. “Obviously, I am disappointed for Linfield to lose a player of Ben’s talent. But at the same time we would never stand in the way of a player moving to a club like Celtic. “He has loads of ability and he also has the right mentality to be a success in full-time football. “Celtic is also a club that will look after him and makes sure he settles in. “I have seen a lot of young players travel to clubs in English League One and Two, and it isn’t long before they are released and end up back home again. “The percentage of players who end up back here is too high. “The good thing with Ben is that he is going to a club that has a proven record of developing young players. “Conor Hazard is a good example of a Northern Ireland lad who has gone there and really progressed.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2826823/celtic-transfers-signing-northern-ireland-ben-wylie-linfield/

Christie deserves a chance to see if he can make it with Celtic. As does Morgan for that matter.
Christie has had a chance. The manager has seen fit to loan him out twice. I think Christie will fall short of making it at Celtic but we need to stop seeing a player being out on loan as being a negative.
3 of our current first team starters have benefitted from time out on loan. It is part of our strategy for developing players.

We don't think for example Allan is gonna come back and do a job do we?

Sending him out last season was to give him a full season of first team football at a bigger team than ICT.

He's spent 2 of those years on loan and has amassed 10or so games with Celtic in that time. He's also 23. He didn't get played by Ronny or Brendan and I don't see any reason that the latter will change his mind on it
Again, I am not against loaning players out for experience it's worked well with McGregor , Ajer etc but there's other players we do it with because we're stuck with them and we know they won't get a game
I think Christie is in the latter.

So what? His positioning is ropey as eff.
...and yet mysteriously managed to keep perennial world cup favourites goalless for the duration of his time on the pitch. Hes been consistently effective for Costa Rica despite not being given game time. I know that doesn't keep to the narrative of Brendan knowing best, but who am I to suggest that his selection in rotation with Lustig last season would have resulted in a far greater points differential over Aberdeen. I always prefer the truth and exposing lickspittles to fawning over the incumbent manager. Its a football forum, not effin Panorama.
