If we don't splash even more cash its a nonsense. CH, RB, winger and cover at LB.

Good business getting 7 million for him, can see us bringing in McGinn now, think we may see a similar move with boyata when he returms from the world cup.
Agreed - plus there are key dates to consider ...

30th June - end of financial year for the club - may influence when some transactions take place

5th July - Deadline for player registration for 1st round CL qualifiers

19th July - Deadline for player registration for 2nd round CL qualifiers

I think Armstrong leaving would be best for both parties. He was quite average last season and I think his mind was and is on England.

£7 mil would be good business for us as well as taking one of the big hitters off the wage bill.

At my vintage you ignore these little details ... too much snow around ...

Another key date is the early closing of the EPL transfer window this year - on the 9th August rather than 31st of August for us. They can sell players but not buy any past that date.

So currently, compared to last years squad, we are two players down.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
...and yet mysteriously managed to keep perennial world cup favourites goalless for the duration of his time on the pitch. Hes been consistently effective for Costa Rica despite not being given game time. I know that doesn't keep to the narrative of Brendan knowing best, but who am I to suggest that his selection in rotation with Lustig last season would have resulted in a far greater points differential over Aberdeen.

I always prefer the truth and exposing lickspittles to fawning over the incumbent manager.
I always prefer the truth to boringly obvious contrarians.

Neymar is a currently rotten. Marcelos, who I love as a player, is not far behind him right now. This Brazil team, as shown today, is playing nothing near the level they can and struggled for a lot of this game and all of the last one.

Gamboa would be better off in the MLS where is lack of awareness will be handily covered up by his pace.

Edit - just to highlight your myopia, BR signed Gamboa. It was a poor signing amongst a few other very poor signings of his.
Neymar is rotten
Marcelo is rotten

you've got ur finger on the pulse.

he's been poor for us
maybe we can get the stupid feck to sing the CR national anthem before he goes out? Seems to help

if BR can't get more out of him then fine, he goes - but he's more than fine for his national team

I think we've learned our lesson over the years with players who have been tidy internationally but not up to par for us.
Cha springs to mind, Chris Killen another.

I have no idea what BR was looking at when he signed Gamboa although I was hopeful at the time. While I'm for the most part positive about new players we are still a bit hit and miss with the new guys.

Gamboa has had an ok WC, fair play to him. I hope we sell him and give someone else a go at claiming the jersey.

Roberts gone,Armstrong on his way. We're now weaker as a team/squad.

Hopefully some good replacements on the way.

Weaker as a squad, not as a team. Some good replacements would be more than welcome though

fair enough, i'm certainly in the camp that our signings under BR hv been hit and miss- DDV possibly being the worst. Odsonne swings it the other way.
My point is that gamboa plays well for his country, and he's sh1t for us. Can't we possibly get that form for us? if not, why not. pretty sure we all think Lustig has been a great servant but is done.

I may be slow, but haven't really heard of any 'firm' names for RB - the wife beating Flanagan now seems to have gone elsewhere

Armstrong is a proven double figure goal scorer from midfield,i'd say weaker team.
