Seen on twitter about Roberts snubbing Leicester and possibly coming back here on a permanent.

Can’t see it myself but its a sniff of a rumour nonetheless.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
That'd be the same Chelsea that didn't qualify for the Champions League next season, yeah?
Didn't they? I pay very little attention to English football, so I honestly didn't know that.

Replace CL in my earlier comment with EL, if they qualified for that tournament and we end up there too.
I'm not sure I'd be too concerned about signing a player based on the tiny likelihood of drawing a team in a competition we're not even in at the moment, and his mindset for this hypothetical match.

I think the guy would improve us on the pitch, and a very young backline would gain from his experience. He's a fun, no doubt about it - and I can understand chat against his signing if people felt he'd be disruptive in a happy dressing room, but I wouldn't be too concerned on him not wanting to play against Chelsea.

Doubt it after he said he wanted to try something new

There was talk of him refusing to play Chelsea in the cup.

The main factor is him being 38 - not worth it.

His age, fair enough but he did do well in the Championship last year.

He caused no trouble at Villa last season mate and they loved him there.
By all accounts this is true.

But remember this was Steve Bruce's Aston Villa. Playing in the English Championship. Who all neutrals wanted to lose against Fulham.

The last time Terry played in a defence that plays anything like as high as we do it was a total disaster. And he was barely 30 then.

Kolo was a smart signing with the manager just in the door, no centre halves and a mental block within the team when it came to the qualifiers but we should be past that by now.

Oh yeah I agree that the slim possibility of us playing Chelsea this season is no reason not to sign him, but the fact that he came out and said before the playoff final that if Villa went up he wouldn't play against them is to me another indicator that he's not someone you want in the dressing room.

That's what I was getting at.

He did well in Steve Bruce's Villa, where Alan Hutton was also a fan favourite. It's safe to say their 'style' of play was quite different to that of Brendan Rodgers.

Could he be signed as defensive cover but mainly as a coach, a bit like Kolo?

Sounds like a fairly big waste of money.

They enjoyed his season with them but if you'd looked on their forums/twitter when he announced he was leaving many of them were delighted as he ended the season poorly and lots think his legs have gone.

Terry would be a monumental waste of money.

Plus he's a complete fud (Celtic 'fan' or not).

By all account Roberts was being used as part of the Mahrez deal but Leicester have said they don't want him rather than him not wanting to go there - Leicester want a transfer only deal in the region of £70 million. Suspect that one is going to run. Paddy is on the market as they say and to be honest I can see him ending up in the Championship at Derby or something.
