Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
You'll find De Vries was the Forrest player of the year the season before we signed him.

He's obviously not been able to handle playing for us but there was a player in there before he came to us which is totally different from what you're judging him on.

You are judging him on what he's done with us, Rodgers signed him on his form previous with him and at Forrest.
...and then gave him an extended contract.
Was it to get a fee for him?

Because he then went out and signed Scott Bain.

He signed Scott again because Gordon got injured. De Vries was given an extension before that

He signed him on an emergency loan because of circumstance.

He then signed him again permenantly despite having De Vries there.

It wasn't an emergency loan. It was within the transfer window.

When we had two fit keepers he gave a hopeless haddie a contract extension. We only signed another keeper when Gordon sustained a long term injury. If Gordon wasn't injured we weren't signing another keeper. And Bain was second choice.

Leigh Griffiths is close to agreeing a new contract with Celtic.
"We are about 85 per cent done now. There’s just a couple of tweaks needed and then it will be done," the striker is quoted as saying by the Scottish Herald.
"The fact that they are even talking about a new contract gives me joy and delight that I am going to be here for basically the rest of my career."
Griffiths' current contract with Celtic runs until 2021.

My point is he didn't have to resign Bain and if like you say, his choice of keeper is DeVries then he was under no obligation to resign Bain after the loan deal.

Anyway, this doesn't have a lot to do with Ralston?

Good stuff, hope he knuckles down & gets fit - works on different aspects of his game, playing a wide role in a front 3 etc..

Good player to have around, if his head is right.

Looked a good presser today, so hoping he's raring to go.

The point is that Rodgers giving Ralston a contract doesn't mean he's good enough when he gave a player who clearly isn't good enough a contract extension.

When Rodgers put's his faith in him, the Dundee Utd manager raves about him and others in the game have been more than complimentary then I think that means something.
