Some Celtic fans really need to take the head out the sand.

Yes the hun are a monstrous basket case (of assets) run by a shameless liar but there is no way Gerrard is taking the job without at the very least assurances on a slightly larger budget than Pedro et all.

If there's funding coming in it's almost certainly through some of dodgy Daves contacts.

They couldn't afford to sack Warbs and Weiry, to pay Barton off, to pay Pedro, to pay Alves/Pena weekly wage etc etc acording to literally hundreds on here.

I can't imagine it's that difficult to run a corrupt and ultimate rotten business when you are a tried and tested Glib.
.... and they couldn't afford to do it, so those that said that were essentially correct.

It was done through a series of ever more desperate loans which gradually tapped out the directors till they were finally forced to head down to the dodgy payday blokes with the high interest rates.

If he's got money coming then it has to be pretty damn creative otherwise they'd have availed themselves of it prior to now.

I'm sure Gerrard must have been given assurances on funding and he has clearly choose to believe it.

I find it very hard to believe that significant outside investment is coming in - it just doesn't add up given everything else.

I genuinely think it's a ridiculous appointment for both the club and Gerrard - great news for us. Rodgers will school him.

This is brilliant. They always have the most funny falls when they're full of hope.

I have absolutely no doubts that SG has been promised a significant amount of funds to go and challenge us. That would need to be a major part of the discussion before he'd sign that contract. What I think he should be wary of is the fact that GASL is a... well.... glib and shameless liar. I'd be amazed if he ends up seeing anything near what he's been told he'll get. The best case scenario for them is that he gets a couple of youths from Liverpool on cheap loans and coaxes some of his old buddies into taking a pay cut for a year or 2. And Russell Martin on a permanent deal.

I suspect he'll have been turned on well before Christmas and in a year's time we'll be in the same position as just now laughing about their next manager (after Murty's glorious 3rd term).

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
Investment can’t just happen

Some minor legal shampoo in the way re TOP and then releasing all remaining shares that’ll turn loans to equity too?

Not seeing that cash for a bit and it’s not a sustainable amount of cash

Its a one season deal that

Someone can’t just roll up and say here ye go - 20 million a year for the next three years - it’s not allowed

And they’ll be expecting a return

This’ll end in orc tears
If there is new money available, I'd really like to know how this "investment" (in Huns-speak) is being introduced -

Loan / debt for equity ?

Sponsorship ?

Stadium naming ?

Secured loan ?

Sale of asset ?
The return of Ticketus no doubt

Ibrox tours all cancelled tomorrow. Additional police presence on standby.

FF creaming themselves for the announcement.

Be a laugh if it's administration.

Happy either way. If he dumps them they'll be even more broken than they already are, and I'll laugh. If he takes them up on it, and decides to give it a try, saddled with that board and that support and that balance sheet -- well then, as some dude with sunglasses once said, "welcome ... to the desert of the real."

Not picking on you specifically because it’s been mentioned several times on here
To move on from this crap, everyone needs to stop mentioning what school he went to, there’s more obsession here than in the swamp!
And his daughter or any other football personalities’ kids should never be mentioned on this forum, they are irrelevant to the discussion

Fecking hilarious... "big investments" "rich foreigners" - solution: "u-18 coach" :lolhuns:

Everyone knows why Glib and Shameless came back, to try and recoup his lost 20mil to Minty. He's now being asked to stump up another 11mil by the takeover panel, he definitely effed up there! Sevco owes, what, another 17mil... yeah the ranjurs are coming!!

Keep in mind it's season book time!

Whether Gerard comes or not, we'll be enjoying the banter years for quite a bit longer....

There's more attention drawn to it on here because they do not think what they're chanting is wrong.

most news outlets report it as done now. I still have a feeling it will fall through as it makes no sense.

He must have had some assurances re: transfer budget and if the cash is from the Far East, then it would have to be a big name from one of the top clubs i.e. the likes of Dyche, Clarke etc wouldn't stand a chance.

I am finding it amusing that the press are heralding the incoming as if it is Steven Gerrard the player in his prime as opposed to Steven Gerrard the under 18 youth coach.
A 3 year contract in his first management role must be a dream for him. Sevco burdening their wage bill further on a punt is good news.

I don't think ignoring an issue which has already been mentioned by Rangers supporters, and which only serves to further the narrative of the dark history/present of either of the teams which have played out of Ibrox, will make it go away. I agree, as I'm sure almost everyone on this forum does, that it's an archaic thought process and one which I wish wasn't apparent in society but the fact remains that this is a legitimate reason why Gerrard would be wise to consider all angles before taking this job.

Highlighting this issue is a better course of action than burying heads in the sand. Or do you think that the media will question the views of certain sections of the Rangers support when this kind of thing begins to become more vocal?

I’ll be quite happy to see him take the job.Desparation stuff from the Huns.I do feel that he must have been promised money if he takes the job so why not appoint a manager like Stevie Clark and give him the money where there would be a lot higher chance of him improving things than someone who hadn’t managed before. It will give the Scottish game a higher profile down south which is a good thing if your trying to get sponsorship in.Whoever comes in might improve things but certainly not enough to stop 10 in a row.

On the contrary it should very much be highlighted. Although the school anyone went to matters not one bit to us, they will never move on “from this crap”. As soon as things turn sour you can guarantee his religion will come into it as it has with previous managers.
