Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
A lot of folk missing the point. I understand the Neanderthals who will buy and wear these. It is the intelligent people promoting this that should be taken to task. The people deemed fit and proper who are opportunists and rabble rousers as long as they profit.
I get that Kev, but there will always be chancers willing to exploit the baser instincts of the weak minded.

My point is that in my 50 years on the planet, I’ve got pretty good at figuring who are the spoofers, dicks and plausible bullshampooters when I meet them. If they happen to wear a t shirt saying ‘I’m a dick’ , it’ll probably save me 5 mins of my life. Those 5 mins are important to me.

Once I got them figured out I can deal with them appropriately ie engage, befriend or ignore.

Personally I think the bigots etc in our society will just naturally die out. No intervention will be required.

The evidence over the last 50 years suggests we are thankfully heading in that direction.
You're obviously a sensible person but I disagree with the last point...I don't see evidence of bigots coming to terms with theirnissues as regards our rivals across the city...if anything id say it is getting slightly worse..anecdotal evidence of course but like you I wish and hope that it is eradicated..

Too bad it didn't fall on a few of the feckers -- when it was on fire! :nono:

Just joking! :) At least it was in a field and not near homes, which is where they often build them. It's just a wee folk festival, you know.

Just sent the following to Tesco

Dear Tesco

I am bringing to your attention items on your inventory that have sectarian overtones and pander to anti Catholic bigotry. The citrus fruit section is littered with offending items celebrating the orange order a sectarian organisation and should be removed also the children's party cakes have purple stars which again promote bigotry!

I trust you will take action immediately lest your company be tarred with a sectarian brush!

Yours A. Walloper
I think some posters are blindly or otherwise overlooking the point.
Commissioning an orange strip is a wink of approval to the thousands of racists who congregate at the bigot dome twenty odd games a season. They are a scourge on the cultural landscape of Scotland, an international embarrassment.
It is not their pro-British stance, or their support for Northern Ireland or their fawning adoration of anyone in an army uniform that causes offence. It is their loudly expressed hatred for a minority group which forms part of Scottish society. In a nutshell, they promote violence, intimidation and intolerance towards the Catholic community.
They are a cancer within the body politic of this country, an unfortunate legacy from the distant past. It is therefore a concern when this group is given any encouragement to believe that their views are in some way acceptable. That there is a place within aye brokes where racism can feel welcome.
This is not about the colour orange. That is just a detail in the story. This is about the significance of sevco's decision to order an orange top.

If this was merely about colour we could never be a patch on that mob :

Sports Direct have reportedly been granted an interim injunction that could halt Rangers from selling their new Hummel kit to fans.

The sportswear retailer, owned by former Rangers shareholder Mike Ashley, claimed that a deal with the Ibrox club has been breached.

The case was heard earlier this week by Mr Justice Bryan in the High Court of Justice.

It centres on Sports Direct’s previous agreement with Rangers, the Scottish Sun reported.

SDI Retail Services Limited (Sports Direct) say they should have been given the opportunity to match “some or all” of a third-party offer to sell Rangers merchandise.

The judgement said: “It is said that if Rangers is not restrained from doing so by this court its actions will thereby wrongly deny SDIR the opportunity to continue to provide some or all of the services to Rangers after the expiry of the initial term.”

Rangers lawyers told the court: “The Notice of Offer sent on 4 June was valid and complied with the requirements of the retail agreement. It was also made clear that it was said to be vital to Rangers’ business model for the next and following seasons for it to launch its retail operations from 1 August, four days before its first fixture and to be able to do so it required to conclude a deal with the offeror as soon as practicable after the 10 day business period from 20 June expires.”

Full details of the hearing were revealed by the British and Irish Legal Information Institute.

The case will be heard again this Tuesday.

Holy crap. “Reportedly” been granted an interim injunction, then refer to the actual case report on bailii.

Nothing ‘reportedly’ about it. It absolutely did happen. It is an unquestionable fact.
