Seemingly the Davis rumour has been denied by the Hun. Probably because it involved actual money.

"Hey, Day youse two no Brendan Rodgers?" "Aye" "Day yeeze want a joab?"
INSIDE TRACK Rangers No2 Gary McAllister hopes Steven Gerrard’s first-hand knowledge of Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers can be an advantage for Gers McAllister and boss Gerrard are both familiar with the workings of Rodgers and his Hoops’ management team
Spoiler: click to toggle By Colin Duncan GARY McALLISTER hopes having the inside track on Brendan Rodgers might help Rangers close the gap on Celtic. Gers No2 McAllister and boss Steven Gerrard are both familiar with the workings of Rodgers and his Hoops’ management team. McAllister had a short spell alongside Rodgers and Celts No2 Chris Davies as well as performance director Glen Driscoll when they were all at Liverpool. Gerrard had two years under the trio when he was coming to the end of his Anfield career. His new Ibrox coaching team — Tom Culshaw, Michael Beale and Jordan Milsom — were also at Liverpool during Rodgers’ reign. McAllister reckons all that first-hand knowledge could work to Gers advantage as they attempt to end Celtic’s seven-year grip on the title. Macca said: “The facts are I know Brendan and three or four of his staff at Celtic who he had at Liverpool too. “I know their methods. They leave very little to chance. They are very well prepared. “Steven Gerrard and the guys he has brought from the academy at Liverpool will probably know them better. “My period with Rodgers was only brief before Jurgen Klopp came in and took over. “It is very interesting and I’m looking forward to it.” McAllister spent just a couple of months assisting Rodgers in 2015 at Anfield before the boss was sacked. He added: “Of course I’m grateful to Brendan Rodgers for the opportunity. “There are moments in your footballing life, even beyond playing, that when certain clubs come knocking it’s very difficult to say no. “Liverpool was one, and Rangers is another. There wasn’t much thinking to be done! “I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was shocked at first. But once you break it down then I can see the thought process and why you would want to bring someone like Steven Gerrard to your club. It’s a no-brainer.” McAllister shared a dressing room with Gerrard during his Kop playing days, and it was evident back then he was in the presence of someone a little bit special. Macca is convinced his old team-mate has the ability needed to turn around the floundering fortunes of Rangers. The rookie boss has not spent any time in the dugout, but McAllister still feels he has all the attributes needed to be a success. Macca said: “The players were feeding off Steven during the training camp in Spain. It was pretty instant. “I had that feeling from the first time he stood in front of them at the training ground — having been there and having been sat there when someone new comes in the room. “I’ve seen the word respect thrown around and it does mean a lot. To go in and hold a room you need to have something, and Steven has got it in abundance. “You have got to realise someone like Steven has captained his club and country for a very long time, that will stand him in good stead. “In this process he’ll be learning right at the coalface. “But people like Steven Gerrard, you can tell by the way they progressed as players they pick things up quickly, and he’s made for this.” Macca admits Gerrard reminds him of the managers who set him on the path to a glorious career as a young kid at Motherwell. McAllister added: “There are people all through your footballing life and managers are very key. When I was 16 I was Davie Hay’s first signing at Motherwell, then Jock Wallace took over. “When you are that age, and this is like young players at Rangers today, when someone speaks with the authority of a Jock Wallace, you realise what it takes to become a professional footballer. “For these young players at Rangers, using the experiences of Steven and all his team can only make them better.” Ex-Celtic star John Hartson has already written Gers off this season before a ball is even kicked. McAllister sees it differently. McAllister said: “When you look at the numbers I can understand it, but we’ve got to really focus on what we’re doing. “We know the strengths of the league, we know the weaknesses of the league, the different types of styles. We’ve got to be prepared for every eventuality. “We’re aware Celtic have done superbly under Rodgers and we’ve got to just go in there and make it more competitive and try and push them. “I think Steven will relish the challenge. That’s the mentality of someone who has been a leader and an inspirational player.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2855833/rangers-gary-mcallister-steven-gerrard-celtic-brendan-rodgers/

Time to revive the old 'we trained with bins' joke. When you pause and take it in, it really is second tier is it not? Whoever planned where they were going didn't think it through did they?

A nice oldco story that I hadn't read before

Sectarianism alive and well in Stuttgart
Rangers' visit to Baden-Württemberg this week was their third excursion to the area on Champions League business, a fact remarked upon by the Vfb Stuttgart president, Dr Erwin Staudt, when he addressed the Ibrox directors at the lunch traditionally given by the host club for their visitors on the day of the match.
"We specially welcome our friends from Glasgow with whom we are building a bond," said the affable Staudt.
"You have been here three times and we have been in Glasgow three times. We are both football clubs with long histories and passionate supporters."
The Rangers VIPS, who have had to become used to picking their way through the minefield of political correctness in recent years, nodded in agreement at these unexceptional observations.
However, they were bolt upright in their seats when the Herr Doktor went on: "And what is more, you are a Protestant club – and we also are a Protestant club."
Staudt then pointed at one his own directors and boomed: "We only employ one Catholic – and it is him!" At which the nominated director threw his hands in the air and cried out: "I am sorry! I am sorry!"
Altogether now, as they might sing in Baden-Württemberg: "Hallo! Hallo! Wir sind der Billy Boys!"

Surely any team in Scotland with professional scouts knows how Celtic play? Our style of play is hardly a state secret. By that logic, we should have replaced Strachan with John Collins because he'd played under the Cardigan at Everton and was a player with experience at a high level.

I know we've heard it all before but nevertheless And you've posted it all before, mhate.
I'm not saying it's untrue but it's unlikely. At 20p per share, the notional figure, the club is worth £20m and it has debt of c.£25m. How much more would be required to build a team that could win the league and then qualify for the CL group stages? Hmm.
Would any sane businessman foresee any kind of return on such an investment?

Consortium with cash building up outside of king atm
Brian Kennedy/Souness/D Murray/Alan Mcleish guy who sold QTS and anor
I know we've heard it all before but nevertheless
And you've posted it all before, mhate. There may well be interest ... however once they see the books and check under the bonnet .. they'll no even want a test drive.

A nice oldco story that I hadn't read before https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/scotland/6203927/Ten-questions-on-George-Burley-for-Tartan-Army-to-answer.html- Quote:

If memory serves, after Celtic played Stuttgart in the Seville year, the Police chief came out and praised the Celtic supporters for their behaviour and said we would be welcomed back with open arms.
Then the Huns visited and it was a bit of a shock to the good people of Stuttgart how different fans from the same city can be....
