How many days until the record journos do their season predictions which will inevitably have 3 of them saying sevco will win the league and 1, for balance, going for celtic

Age affects different players differently. Brown's in the form of his career under Rodgers. Davis has just had his worst ever season in terms of number of appearances/injuries.

In any case, if we've got any sense we'll be planning for Brown slowing down this season. It's inevitably going to happen at some point in the next 2 years given his age. If sevco sign Davis they'll be doing the opposite, chucking big wages and presumably a multi-year contract at a guy who's clearly on the downslope of his career.

Davis was a good player. So was Alves, Barton, Kranjcar. Even Dorrans, they signed him last season thinking "Aye he's not played as much football as he might have last season, but there's still life in him yet, he's only 30" and they were wrong. His legs were gone and that's why Norwich let him go. He's now a £15-20k p/w player who can't live with Motherwell players on £750. Southampton are letting Davis go at 33, that tells you one thing, he's not the same player.

I seriously hope they go with as many aging players and loanees as possible this season. It's the most expensive way to run a team (in the long run) and the worst thing they can do.

So after all the bluster and overhauling of the side they are going into 2018/2019 with a centre back project, a right back who has is it his pace, a loan striker and another old midfielder who had done ok in the EPL. If Aberdeen or Hibs don't finish I will be astounded.

One for the legal/finance guys.
Tomorrow is the last business day before the 1st July deadline for the repayment of £12.9m of outstanding loans. When should we expect any statement informing us that all or some loans have been rolled over or if,as rumoured,at least one lender has asked for his cash back?.

From sevco's accounts 2017 :

"At the time of preparation, the forecasts identified that the Group would require a minimum of £4.0m additional funding by the end of season 2017/18 in order to meet its
liabilities as they fall due. The first tranche of funding is required in November 2017.

Further funding amounting to £3.2m is forecast to be required during the 2018/19 season. However, the final amount is dependent on future football performance and European football participation amongst other factors.

The Board have discussed the Club’s forecast cash shortfall and have reached an agreement with New Oasis Asset Limited whereby they will provide additional loan facilities as necessary to meet the above requirements.

Further to this, New Oasis Asset Limited and certain investors have agreed to extend their existing loan facilities to July 2019.

The Board is satisfied that those parties will continue to provide financial support to the Group and have satisfied themselves as to the validity of the undertakings. The Board acknowledge that had these assurances not been secured then a material uncertainty would exist which may cast doubt over the Groups’ ability to continue as a going concern (close brothers loan) and therefore its ability to realise its assets and discharge its liabilities in the normal course of business. With the appropriate assurances obtained and the
continued support of the investors, the Board believe that such uncertainty has been removed. "

Which would suggest that 'certain other investors have NOT agreed to extend their existing loan facilities to July 2019.'
