Quoting limited to 3 levels deep Dig deep Umar Sadiq to Rangers: Gers shelling out hefty six-figure loan fee to secure Roma striker on season-long loanSunSport understands Steven Gerrard is now confident a deal is in place which will see the highly-rated striker confirmed by the weekend Spoiler: click to toggle Exclusive By Derek McGregor RANGERS are shelling out a hefty six-figure loan fee to get Roma striker Umar Sadiq on a season-long loan. And SunSport — who revealed he was a target on June 11 — understands Steven Gerrard is now confident a deal is in place which will see the highly-rated Nigerian confirmed by the weekend a his eighth signing. The chance to work for the former Liverpool and England legend was huge for the Olympic bronze medallist, who has rejected offers from other clubs throughout Europe. Sadiq, 21, isn’t expected to fly out to Gers’ current training camp in Malaga before the squad leave. I didn't know it was that bad he'd shat himself He will when they get back to Fir Park next time and those words get used in the team talk.

Surely there can't be a name that sounds as ridiculous in a Scouse accent as Umar Sidiq? Martin Skrtel. By a mile.

Anyone believe they'll record their highest ever league position in the top league under Gerrard? I think Hibs & Aberdeen will push them out & they'll need to scrap with the others for 4th. If Kenny Miller goes to Livingston as a 1st time manager, with one of the newly promoted Clubs & takes points off Gerrard it'll be Banter Years off the effing scale!
I'm saving up pocket change until that game, to lump it on if Miller gets the job.

I think Gerrard will be the biggest disaster yet. He comes across as really deluded, almost how you'd expect a Football Manager addict to act, if put in charge of a professional team- all the talk of being "obsessed" at becoming the best manager etc.
The English media will almost certainly chime in when it starts to go really wrong, and I can't see them blaming their golden boy like the Scottish media will. I've also noticed a big increase in Rangers and Sevco tops, so the Huns could reach a level of meltdown not yet seen.

Cardoso and Herrera not part of Gerrard's plans, Alves next? Millions soon to be rolling into ra'gers now.
Talks on hold Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will hold talks with Bruno Alves over his future after the World Cup Alves’ days at Ibrox appear numbered following the signings of central defenders Nikola Katic and Conor Goldson
Spoiler: click to toggle By Colin Duncan STEVEN GERRARD will wait until after the World Cup to tell Bruno Alves if he has a future at Rangers. Alves’ days at Ibrox appear to be numbered following the signings of central defenders Nikola Katic and Conor Goldson. Gerrard has also signed former Liverpool team-mate Jon Flanagan, who can play at the heart of defence. Veteran stopper Alves, who is wanted by Victoria Guimares, is preparing for Portugal’s last-16 clash with Uruguay. Gerrard said: “I haven’t spoken to Bruno yet. “I have given him the respect he deserves as he has got very important things to focus on right now in terms of the World Cup. That should be his priority. “He will have a break after Portugal either win the tournament or get knocked out and then I will have a conversation with Bruno.” Gerrard has told Fabio Cardoso and Eduardo Herrera they are not part of his plans. He added: “I had a conversation with them before we came to Spain and told them their game time would be limited. “I want to give players as much time as possible during the window to find different opportunities.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2844817/steven-gerrard-bruno-alves-rangers-talks-future-fabio-cardoso-eduardo-herrera/

If Gerrard had Alves in his plans it wouldn't be something he'd need to wait til after the world cup to tell him. So he's been given due respect by having his manager effectively tell the press that he's not wanted.

Had a quick browse around SMSM's reporting of yesterday's hearing concerning the Notice of Complaint served on sevco by the SFA. The narrative that this is a 'dispute' between sevco and the SFA is being strongly promoted. These proceedings against sevco which carry a strong under current of criminal activity are being passed off in the SMSM as though it's akin to two farmers contesting ownership of a cow. That there is some kind of moral equivalence amidst the competing claims. This is a prosecution and sevco is accused of fraud.
