What are the Vanguard Bears? Someone just sent me an article written by them and it's the biggest load of deluded pish i've ever read.
They are a wee bit different from car watchers. Dave King is pandering to them these days . It defies all concepts of human logic and decency but , in the long run bodes well for us .

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep STEADY THE SHIP Rangers boss Steven Gerrard says he needed to get Gers house in order before adding the likes of Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic
The Gers boss has revealed he wanted to steady the ship by bringing in his backroom staff before adding any new players to the club Spoiler: click to toggle By Alan Potts STEVEN GERRARD says one of his first tasks as Rangers boss was to get the Gers house in order. The Ibrox boss has revealed he wanted to steady the ship before bringing any new players to the club. Gerrard appointed his former Liverpool team-mate Gary McAllister as no.2 and feels the team he’s assembled around him will stand the club in good stead. He told Rangers TV: “I have got a group of staff and between us we will come to the decisions that are right for the club. “When I came in here it was about sorting our house out. That means the training ground and make sure everything is right in there. “Then we have to build team spirit and make them bond and make them together, hopefully that can stand us in good stead when the games come around. “The board were very supportive that I had my people I was comfortable with but can also improve the players. They are all experts in their own way. “They didn’t have to think about it when I asked him, but we are all the first team staff, there is no number one, two, three or four. “Trust is important but they know I have their back and they have mine. They are good enough to come to a club like this with the demands and I have every confidence they can deliver. They have known for a long time they are coming and they can’t wait to get started.” Gerrard has made six signings so far and he is confident that each of them will make a vital contribution for the Light Blues. He said: “The recruitment is very important. The relationship between myself Mark Allen and Andy Scoulding is really strong. “We have assessed the squad from afar and now close up. We know the areas we are strong and the areas we need to tweak and improve. We have made a decent start in improving the goalkeeping area by bring in Allan McGregor. He is a goalkeeping legend here who knows the club inside and out and he is a positive signing. He is someone who is up for it. “Scott Arfield was a no brainer on a free contract. He will help in a lot of ways on and off the pitch.” Rangers’ fifth and sixth summer purchases were defenders Nikola Katic and Connor Goldson. And Gerrard says it was a key area that needed addressed for next season. He added: “The other main area was the centre back area. Russell Martin went back to Norwich, Bruno Alves is at a World Cup, while David Bates has left. “That was an area first and foremost we needed players, but the right players and right profile. It had to be players who were hungry and come in and defend this badge with their lives. “That was the message when we spoke to them about coming here. It isn’t enough to come and just play for Rangers. It is about coming here and defending that shirt with your life. “Both Katic and Goldson are up for that challenge. They are different in terms of age and experience. Nikola is inexperienced in terms of numbers of games but in terms of potential and profile he ticked every box. He is looking forward to coming to Spain and getting going. “Connor is ready to go after a frustrating couple of years of being a back-up at Brighton. I see him as a leader and a starter, someone who can take ownership of the defence. He is hungry to get going.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2786258/rangers-steven-gerrard-transfer-connor-goldson-nikola-katic-signings/

Saw a bit Sunny G’s press conference on SPN this afternoon.
Asked about their first game away to the sheep and their ‘big rivalry’ he didn’t have a clue about it. Usual generic crap about big rivals at top of league being big rivals.
Tosser hasn’t a clue about his new work environment. Done no homework on the new league he’s moved to.
Bring it on!

Gerrard on his first time talking to the rangers players, “I think they know, they are bright lads, they are educated, they have been around the game for a while, and they know what needs to happen here". He's 'aving a laugh.
'BALL ROLLING' Rangers boss Steven Gerrard insists he can’t spend time being ‘obsessed’ with Celtic as he reveals texts to Brendan Rodgers The former Liverpool captain has met his Rangers players for the first time and is relishing the club's opening fixtures of the new Premiership campaign
Spoiler: click to toggle By Colin Duncan STEVEN GERRARD knows that Celtic are the benchmark but insists he can’t afford to spend his time obsessing over them. Gerrard will take his Rangers team to Parkhead four games into the new Premiership campaign. The fixture list also handed Rangers an opening-day clash at Pittodrie followed by another stern test at Motherwell. The Liverpool legend couldn’t have asked for a tougher start as he takes his first steps in management. However, Gerrard didn’t quite see it that way. When it was suggested to him the fixture list hadn’t done Rangers any favours he looked the questioner dead in the eye and said: “Do you think? “I’m happy. I’m excited. I love big games If you want to play for Rangers then looking at those first four fixtures should excite you. “They should make the shoulders go back. If I was still a player then I would love those first four games. “Three of them are away from home, including the Old Firm and Aberdeen away on the first day — and we all know the rivalry between the two clubs. “There are going to be tough challenges throughout the season and three come in the first four games. “Let’s get ready for it. We are going to have to face them all throughout the season anyway. “It doesn’t matter what order they come in. We can’t control that. All we can control is to get in the best shape we can. “To get fitter, stronger and better, but I think for me it is important not to be obsessed with Celtic. “I have to sort Rangers out. There are things we need to improve on and my focus is on Rangers. “Brendan Rodgers sent me a message just after the announcement and we exchanged a few messages. “I think it is very disrespectful just to focus on one team in the league, especially when you finish third and Hibernian were breathing down your neck as well. “There are some good teams in the league but for me I wouldn’t be doing my job properly if I was focusing on the other teams. “Obviously there will be a time and a place to focus on those teams when we come up against them, but right now my priority is Rangers and trying to improve certain things so I can take the challenge to everyone.” Gerrard met his players for the first time when they reported back for pre-season training. And the Gers boss wasted little time in making it perfectly clear what will be expected on his watch. His first speech might have been short, but it was also to the point. He added: “I have been waiting a long time to actually deliver it and I have had a long time to think about it. “I think the important thing is not to make it too long and give them too many things to think about. The important thing was to be clear. “I think they know, they are bright lads, they are educated, they have been around the game for a while, and they know what needs to happen here. “There needs to be change, there needs to be improvement in a lot of areas.” Gerrard is hoping to start bringing about the necessary changes during a ten-day training camp in Southern Spain, which starts on Sunday. He said: “The most important thing was to introduce myself and my staff, give them a plan for before we go to Spain, and the next ten days there will be very important in terms of giving more detailed information. “I will learn a lot about them in the next ten days. I also learned a lot about them in the first three hours. “As a manager you are scrutinising every single move they make on and off the pitch. “We are learning all the time but a month in I will be in a better position to know them better and the relationship will be stronger and tighter.” Gerrard finally arrived in Glasgow on Wednesday, a month after being appointed Greame Murty’s successor, desperate to put his stamp on the Ibrox club. He added: “The last 48 hours has been a bit mixed, really, in and around the city! “The last four to six weeks has been a whirlwind. It happened really quickly from the first contact when Liverpool told me Rangers were interested. “All of a sudden, I was getting unveiled. It was a long four weeks from that point to get to this point because I wanted to get started, wanted to get the ball rolling. “Now it’s here I’m delighted. I am really looking forward to the challenge and I hope the players feel the same way.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2788990/rangers-steven-gerrard-obsessed-celtic-brendan-rodgers/

The list of really good footballers who were crap managers is endless, and the vast majority were far more articulate and smarter than Gerrard.
With every passing day and hearing the shiote he spouts, he is becoming a certainty to join the ranks of the duffers.
Brendan will eat him and spit him out and do it with such grace
