I'd wager a guess it's not only the huns conducting their business that way.
If you see my post above. . .i'd wager it is.
As I understand it, it's fairly normal for buying clubs to pay in instalments

The size of those instalments is what Phil has touched upon in his blog during the last transfer window. According to him Rangers offered Murphy's club somewhat irregular terms i.e £500 a week for 50 years as opposed to the usual 1/3 now ,1/3 in the following summer etc.

With Goldson it all depends on what his value was to Brighton. 1.5 million is only 500k up front potentially. Huns can afford that for the short term I'm sure.

Who cares though? they're still 9 guys short of a team of people I've even heard of never mind rate as half decent.

Rejoice for today is the day Naive Steve takes training and will realise now what a mountain he had to climb before he thinks about a gap.

he's probably already written down

I'm sick of you basturts on here. The Gers lads have a couple of months in the summer and a week or two in the winter when they return to their rightful place at the very top of the Scottish game. Who, surely, could grudge them that. They will have 9 months of teeth gnashing soon enough.

Have a heart, Timmy.

Not the worst bit of business over the past few days tbh. But again no matter who they sign its always gonna be 'going for 55' they just cant help it.

They don't grasp that its not stevie g the world class midfielder they have got, its the untested manager in a very competitive league. My mate who, tbf isn't the typical delusional hun. hit out with " aye gerrard will know rodgers tactics inside out" ... ffs in an interview the guy got asked what his favourite type of cheese was and he replied "melted".

Im pretty sure Rodgers won't lose sleep
Every manager in Scotland already knows our tactics inside out . Some even have a team that , when we switch off , can nullify them and win .
Then we just go up a gear or two in the next games .

To be fair its something most teams do including ourselves however where most teams differ is that they have the money in their projections. So if they spend 3 million over 3 years they know based upon projections that they will have this with something to spare.

The huns on the other hand have went the opposite way where before all these players where bought they had already announced they had a shortfall for the previous shysters of around 3m from memory.

They will have taken more money in with season tickets however they have increased their overall wage bill by I would guess 3 or 4 million - which equates to maybe an extra 350k per month.

SG by all accounts is on a sizeable wage as well

They will have or will be paying the first tranche/agents fees which will have reduced the amount that has come in

They will also be due to repay the close brothers loan unless they roll it on

They still have not reduced the wage bill unless you count a few players like Miller, Doodo off

Wasn't arguing against any of that. It just hardly seemed worth noting that the huns would be paying a transfer in instalments.

Can see the hun team looking like this for the season:

Mcgregor
Tavernier Goldson Katic John
Jack Dorrans
Candeias Arfield Murphy
Morelos

Bench
Foderingham, Alves, Hodson, Mccrorie, Ejaria, Windass, Herrera

Reserves
Alnwick, Wallace, Cardoso, Holt, Halliday, Docherty, Rossiter, Beerman, Barjonas, Wilson

Still looks well short of putting up a decent challenge, they need to clearout their wasters, get some fullbacks that can defend, a decent dm, at least another winger and a quality striker, they better hope the chinese come back soon with an improved offer for morelos to fund all these new players they'll need ;)

That CB pairing could prove to be very useful or just utter hump.

I realise it’s a tad repetitive but they’ve sold a very healthy amount of season books

That means they have some cash

It won’t last and they’ll burn through it - but a club that sells over 40k season books can splash a bit of pre season cash

As I said before if they had any brains they’d try and make it last but they don’t do they won’t

Remember they spent ‘mullyins’ last season

Which they’ve still to pay for

Not a long term strategy reallu unil the 40 mill rolls in for the CL for them obvs :cuckoo:

Heard the same last year. As another poster said, they very clearly aren't skint. They are banking on us standing still, and given Lawwell's history of doing exactly that, their odds are probably pretty good. They'll need a lot more than what they've currently got, but.

Doodo may be off but it is only on a loan deal.

Dodoo has signed a year long loan with Blackpool. As it is a loan deal rangers may stlll be pauing part or all of his wages.
