Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
This. Gerrard mentioned that it would be unfair to call McAllister an assistant as he would be much more than that
people should read the rules fully....looks like lots of folk have read article 36 (head coach needs highest available qualification) but then stopped...need to read it all..

Article 40 – Common provisions applicable to UEFA coaching qualifications
under the UEFA Coaching Convention
1 A holder of the required UEFA coaching licence within the meaning of Articles 36
to 39 is considered a coach who, in accordance with the UEFA implementation
provisions of the UEFA Coaching Convention, has:
a) been issued a UEFA coaching licence by a UEFA member association; or
b) at least started the required UEFA coaching diploma course. Simple
registration for the required diploma course is not sufficient to meet this
criterion
.

Gerrard meets the criteria if he has started the course...and given his attendance at Toulon as part of the course then presumably he has started it
This got me thinking - do you think all Gerrards reported scouting isnt actually scouting and him gaining hours of experience needed to apply for his licence? Sounds plausible

We all love a laugh at Sevco but that’s a bit embarrassing from PhilMac. Obsessed indeed.
I think that is maybe getting one over the walter mitty character known as john james who had went with the fact Gerrard could not get the job and has now pulled the article in question.
Unfortunately it looks like we'll be seeing Arlene perform!!

Quote from John James now deleted article!

Apropos of not very much the infamous spiky golf shoes thing by the Gub had a line in it about how much he enjoyed the fact that the newly appointed MON spent the first couple of weeks in the Celtic job commentating for the BBC at Euro 2000. More proof that Gerrard is exactly like MON. Without the qualifications. Or the wit. Or the law degree. Or a league winners medal. Or rosary beads.

I don't see what's "Obsessed" about Phil poking a stick at Sevco's suppurating mass - Phil is doing what he always does , getting under their skin ! :rocker:
He's no different to all of us (including me ) who populate this thread with questions, guffaws, and some incredible photoshop work to wind these Bastards up. :rocker:
His articles are much better than some of the slander & innuendo that eminates from the Sevco official website and GASL's stuttering mouth ! :o
They should be prodded (pun) at every opportunity over their behaviour & business transactions !

I don't think this is the smoking gun, some imagine it to be.
Unless "head coach" is synonymous with "manager" in their regulations.
Don't want to get into the Phil stuff. But to answer your question, yes, a manager and head coach are the same thing.

I’m talking solely about this one piece. Everyone and their dog knows it’s not an issue yet he asks UEFA to respond.

By all means have a go at them but this dabbling in the Shiite belittles all the good stuff he produces.

Looks like all the bleating by Glib has paid dividends, as Gary Hughes has stepped down from his position at the SFA

Sevco have just opened a massive can of worms. Dermot Desmond over to you now bury them.

Loan all our up coming stars to Hibs & Aberdeen for a start.

There was never any getting out of this.

Our fans would have been all over it if the shoe was on the other foot.

The only difference is our guys would have been far quicker off the mark.

Really? Our fans would have been all over it quicker for someone saying the 'great unwashed'?

Hasn't there been some recent mincing of words over at snake mountain concerning Mcallister's position having some mysterious exalted status that elevates him above the rank of a mere "assistant" or "no. 2" ;) ?

A quip about huns being "the great unwashed" leads to stepping down at the SFA whereas a claim that Catholic schools cause sectarianism doesn't cause a ripple?

King has played these clowns at Hampden like a fiddle. It's easy, of course, when they offer their strings to be stroked by any hun with an agenda. McLennan will follow shortly.

Come on - do you honestly think there wouldn’t be Celtic fans up in arms if roles were reversed?

Calling a group of any fans the “great unwashed” isn’t really acceptable for someone in such a position is it?

This was always going to be a hands up job.
