Alfredo Morelos still on Besiktas radar as Turkish giants believe they can sign Rangers striker for just '€2million'

Reports in Turkey claim the Super Lig side remain keen on the 21-year-old Colombian.

Besiktas believe they can snap up Alfredo Morelos for as little as €2million, according to reports in Turkey.

The striker is believed to have attracted attention from the Super Lig side following 18 goals in his first campaign at Rangers.

Morelos fuelled exit talk last week by retweeting a post linking him with a move from his official Twitter account.

The Colombian burst on to the scene during the first half of last season and was the subject of bids from Chinese sides, with figures of up to £10m being floated in January.

But Turkish media say Besiktas reckon Morelos can be acquired for well short of those numbers as they look to replace Cenk Tosun following his move to Everton.

Boss Senol Gunes still boasts former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo and ex-Liverpool man Ryan Babel among his ranks but is understood to be keen on adding more firepower.

New Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is set to take charge on Friday and Morelos will be among a number of players he will be keen to assess.

His Ibrox career began brightly but a run of just one goal in 10 games coupled with a series of high-profile misses blotted his copybook towards the end of the campaign.

If the 21-year-old were to depart for Turkey it would leave Gerrard short of options up front, with Kenny Miller out of contract and loanee Jason Cummings back at Nottingham Forest.

That would be a tremendous step up for him whatever the price.

What's all this bull dust about feeling sorry for Gessard.

Stuff him and his squllion dollars in the bank. Why would I feel sorry for someone who has an ego only slightly less than that of Lampard. When he comes crashing down like a poleaxed 'Polaris' (John MacDonald for all the youngsters on here) it will be another chapter in that great classic 'The Banter Years'.

Anyone who has sympathy needs their head examined :comp:

“I am surprised at the SPFL’s response to my request for an independent investigation into the relationship of its chairman to major shareholders in Celtic FC.

“Any organisation that has behaved properly would welcome an independent and transparent review.

“The SPFL’s response does not even attempt to answer why there was non-disclosure of the conflict that immediately arose when the SPFL chairman accepted this appointment.

“SPFL board members were informed that their chairman was taking up a non-executive directorship with another business but they were not told there was a conflict of interest due to common shareholders with significant influence within that company and Celtic FC.

“We need to be told if the SPFL chairman chose not to disclose the conflict. If it transpires that he did in fact make the required disclosure then to whom did he address this and why did that person not relay this critical information to SPFL board members?

“Had the conflict been disclosed the SPFL board members could have carried out their fiduciary obligation by interrogating this conflict of interest and agreeing how the chairman would deal with it going forward.

“The existence of this conflict means that the SPFL chairman must recuse himself from much of the business of the SPFL going forward thereby rendering his present position as being not fit for purpose.

“The SPFL’s rather hurried and inadequate response merely reinforces my personal view that good governance is not a priority for the SPFL executive.

“These questions must be addressed immediately if confidence is to be restored in the SPFL executive and its chairman.”

I feel a bit sorry for Gerrard now. Imagine being a few days out from starting a massive job only to discover your new chairman has started, and lost, a war of words with the SPFL over a nothing matter. In any other organisation this week would be all about the rookie manager but King just has to steal the headlines.
No, I don’t feel sorry for Gerrard. Everyone from Robbie Williams to the dugs in the street know
they’re skint and King is a GASL, and if he didn’t know, a quick google search would have informed him of same.
The eff has Robbie Williams gotta do with it!?
