Meyler and Collins? Two players that are such donkeys they've been fortunate to escape being turned into Findus crispy pancakes.
Have you seen much of Meyler? Will run all day and can be very effective playing deep.
What they are going to pay him with is another matter.
Seen plenty of him yeah. What he lacks in football ability he makes up for in running around a lot and generally not doing much of any note. Plenty of that around.

Meyler had largely lost his place at a Hull side struggling in the Championship. Of the 46 league games, he was in the squad 33 times, started only 17 times, and got a further 8 substitute appearances.

When that sort of combative run all day midfielder gets to his late 20's and is in and out of the squad it'd suggest his legs have started to go. He also plays in a position where Sevco have about 9 first team squad players 'battling' for game time...but hey he's got PL experience and he's on a free, so the press can make him out to be a world beater brought here by Mr Gerrard's star power.

huns in for David Meyler. Sounds unbelievable but coming from very reliable source.
Seems like Gerrard has pulling power.
I've never heard of him.
He’s the guy that slipped against Chelsea and gift wrapped the league title for Man City.

They must be getting close to option Z on their targets list by now.
I thought they had started at Z

With this inflated market and our deflated tv deals, it really make you grateful that we've been able to build up a (relatively to Scottish football) strong and expensive squad over the years. It must be murder trying to make an impact against that when you've got no money and you alienate 1/2 your players every 2 years or so.

We can pick and choose our weak areas, the huns are constantly trying to build a team of winners on a base of quicksand.

I think it's a prerequisite that their signings/manager have to be Celtic fans.

It's baffling that they're continually focusing on players who are 28/29 or even older. At the moment, they could conceivably put out a team like this next year (Ages as of the 1st Sept 2019). In fact, I'd go so far to say at the moment it's probably their strongest side on paper, you could make an argument for Windass over maybe Candeias.

1. McGregor (GK) 36
2. Tavernier (RB) 27
3. Alves (CB) 36
4. McCrorie (CB) 20
5. John (LB) 23
6. Jack (DM) 26
7. Arfield (CM) 29
8. Candeias (RM) 30
9. Morelos (CF) 22
10. Dorrans (CM) 31
11. Murphy (LM) 29

That's an average age of 28.

Just taking our Cup Final team as a comparison.

1. Gordon (GK) 35
2. Lustig (RB) 31
3. Boyata (CB) 27
4. Ajer (CB) 20
5. Tierney (LB) 21
6. Brown (DM) 33
7. Ntcham (CM) 22
8. McGregor (CM) 25
9. Dembele (CF) 22
10. Rogic (CM) 25
11. Forrest (LW) 27

That's an average age of 26. And you could almost certainly add in Edouard at 20 for McGregor, and I'm pretty positive we'll get younger at RB this window (especially with Lustig playing at the WC)

Under Warbiola they were hailed as having the most exciting young squad in Britain

That demented gobscheidt King is at it again.

Quote:

THE Club notes with concern the latest disclosure through the media regarding a business relationship which the Chairman of the SPFL has with leading shareholders of a fellow SPFL club.

This has given rise to allegations of non-disclosure and it is now imperative that we discover exactly the nature of the information supplied to the SPFL regarding this relationship.

It is equally important that any conflicts of interest, or even the perception of such, whereby positions within the Scottish football authorities could be undermined, or abused, must be aggressively rooted out of our game.

The SPFL, therefore, must immediately suspend its Chairman pending an independent investigation by a senior QC into the allegations and into the extent that other parties within the SPFL may have cooperated in this alleged non-disclosure. There is a clear prima facie case for this investigation.

Unfortunately for Scottish football, this incident immediately follows a similar call by myself for an independent non-executive director of the SFA to be suspended under similar circumstances. The credibility of Scottish Football in the minds of supporters and sponsors is at stake and urgent action is required. Transparency will be key to recovering the confidence of key stakeholders in Scottish football and this cannot be achieved if the SFA and/or the SPFL conduct internal investigations.

The SPFL and SFA must now appoint independent investigators. Scottish football is an important national asset and must have levels of probity and governance that are beyond reproach and that are transparently so.

Dave King
Chairman

When Vladimir Romanov would issue his ridiculous statements, he was crucified by the press.

King really needs to be challenged on these statements.
