shampooe move by a shampooe, desperate bunch of chancers. Hope we get them at Ibrox in both cups.
I'm pretty sure in the SC you must offer your opponent at least 20% of the capacity
We never offered/gave the oldco 12,000 tickets when we drew them at home in the Scottish Cup.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this piece of nonsense should arise on the same day that they drag up a nothing story from 12 years ago for no reason other than to denounce it, then denounce it again in stronger language.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that both items are of an even more subjective nature than usual, sure to appeal to the loyal hardcore

I don’t think it's a coincidence these items should emerge at a time...ah, feck it: I think this charade reeks of King suddenly feeling the need to circle the wagons and is pulling out the stops to keep the great unwashed onside. There’s a wheen of ongoing problems which could prompt this scenario - TOP, more directors resigning (and wanting their £m’s back), failing to back up his promises to the newly appointed poster-boy ‘manager’, Article 12, season ticket sales, etc etc etc.

Something’s going down, beware low flying squirrels...

Has anyone considered that maybe sevco have refused to (can’t afford to) pay toilet damages so we’ve said “enough is enough; we are cutting your allocation next season”? Being professional as ever, we’ve not made a song and dance about it; but over in Sevconia, they’ve rushed out a statement, as ever, to deflect? I find it very odd that, given our board’s response to the the past 6 years and what we now know about the past 30 years, we’re now suddenly rushing out a (we’ll aimed) reply to the deranged ramblings of Sevco...
I don't think they have ever actually threatened to do this, up until now they have always known they've nothing to gain from it, so not completely surprising the board have responded this time.
It's utter desperation, even without the possibility of two further board resignations.

They seem to be going into smokescreen overdrive in the last few weeks, definitely something to cover up.

edit^ pretty much the same view as aldo

Possibly true but SC ties are outwith Season Tickets - IF we are drawn against them in any cup game , the Free Broomloan for Tims will be back ! :naught:
The Broomloan St's is about frontloaded cash and staying above water , Struthian all the way ! :ph43r:

I like our response. I hope this is a move on our part to burst the "old firm"

We don't rely on them. They do rely on us.

Jesus.

His entire point was that if we get them in the Cup they have to give us a large allocation and they can't do anything about it.

Not too unexpected after they struggled to sell the allocation at Parkhead for the last Derby game.

Big screen at Celtic Park showing the game from their Midden let everyone in using their season books Tunes up full blast hire the Open Top Bus to do a victory parade from Govan to Parkhead after the game .

Clearly there is a motive in mind here whether its a desperate need for the money or a need to pander to an element of the support as bad news is coming there is something behind it. It's not something that really makes any sense to take on and you have to say the police will surely have something to say about it?

I wasn't initially too pleased when we reacted so quickly but the retort was brilliant in its simplicity.

If he has been misled over his capacity to sign the likes of Skrtel it’s not too much of a stretch to imagine that he might feel like walking away. Given the intensity of the Sevco bigot pandering today it might well be to distract from something really embarrassing

Like others have said, I suspect GASL is rabble-rousing the Huns into their quintessentially British, bigoted, dignified, staunch, Churchillian, Dunkirk, Poppytastic, hide in the shipyards spirit because there's a sh##tstorm inament

I don't think this part of their latest St. Atement has really got the ridicule it deserves so far;

Quote:

Following the closure of the renewal deadline the Club seeks applications from supporters who did not hold season tickets for the prior season. This has long been part of our Club’s tradition as it allows new and younger supporters, who did not previously own a season ticket, to secure one for the first time.

No no no, we wouldn't engage in anything as undignified as normal commercial activity by simply offering unsold season tickets for open sale once renewal deadline has passed....no, this here is tradition and don't you ever forget it  :lolhuns:
I struggled with all of it. They got a record number of renewals, they claim - 40 000. For the sake of argument, say their renewals last year was 38 000. If they offer season tickets firstly only to those who had season tickets last year, the most that could possibly 'renew' for next season, even if every single person from last year renewed, is, 38 000. Where did the other 2000 appear from? It wouldn't be that King is talking sh1te again, would it?

This is what I was thinking. Maybe ST sales aren't going as well as he's claiming, and this is all a carpetbagging exercise.

How much extra money is this supposed to bring in? Wouldn't they already have season ticket holders in the triggersbroomloan, the same way we have people on sevco-free season tickets?

It's not as if that entire stand is going to be non season ticket holders. Or is it?

I was told just over a month ago by a Sevco board-member that it wasn't feasible for them to cut our allocation. He gave various different reasons, including SKY throwing a fit and them not actually having an alternative plan as to where the Celtic fans could safely sit.

Wonder whats changed? I have my suspicions that King went over the heads of a few with this one.
