If Nicholl and Johanssen (sp?) step in and win the next 3 games, will they be given the job permanently? A bit like Lenny with us? It'd certainly be the cheapest option and if they get 3 wins on the bounce it might be enough for the fragile Hun fanbase to cling onto as the dawning of a new era.

Another thing, and this might sound harsh, but if Murty is in no 'mental state' to talk to the press then it really reflects badly on his CV. Professional football is not a forgiving environment and anyone seen to be mentally weak is unlikely to go very far. I understand that there is pressure, but ultimately it's a game and even just taking a second to step back, acknowledge that and say "right, nobody's dead" it shouldn't be much of an ask to then talk to the press.

Alternatively, send out an assistant to speak for you. It just makes him look absolutely amateur. I get he's probably the loneliest guy on the planet during the game on Sunday, Huns fans, players and board all blaming him and hanging him out to dry, but, if that's the case come out and defend your corner and call out the arseholes who have put you in that position.
Where did you pick up on that 'mental state' stuff. Was that reported?

I'd assumed he'd been ordered not to interview, by the one fluent in Huttese.
He was told not to speak to the media. All that mental state hoo haa is fabricated bollocks.
Unless he's agreed to say nothing as part of a severance settlement, there's no reason for him to do so. That said, people ought to rein themselves in with this 'mental state' stuff.

Don’t normally feel sorry for anyone that takes the hun pound but Murty was treated appallingly by King and the board. Completely hung out to dry. He should at least be offered his old job back with the youths FFS.
There is no love for him over on RM.

"He's a clueless carrot who has damaged the club, a shampooebag and a taig bastard that should be no where near our club"

Rewind back a couple of months and they had banners for Murty Mania wondering what he would have done if he had been given Pedro's "millions" and now, as BR quite rightly pointed out, he is thrown to the garbage.

What's Bomber up to these days?

For the games against Aberdeen & Hibs (well really Lennon), the huns would love to have Bomber spouting bile.

All you folk felling sorry for him.

It's marvellous. Absolutely marvellous. I want the same fate to befall the next manager and the one after that. They'll not get one ounce of sympathy from me.

All you hipsters wire in with the sympathy. For me the worse they treat their managers the better it is for us and I absolutely love it.

Murty has actually been exceptionally badly treated.

He is a youth coach.

They knew that.

He steps up. Not once twice. They asked him to do that. They appointed him.

King or Sevco undermining him before important matches.

The players acting the goat.

Announcements of their intention to appoint someone else.

Murty's case seems, from the outside, OK.
Case for what?
Brendan said he's a likeable man.

There's not many of them about, eh, Mr Remy.

Millery and Wallacey on the touchline for the game against Kilmarnock?

That would be nice.

I guess the question was more on what type of case he could have. I understood he was only given the manager's role until the end of the season on a short term contract. As such they would be within their rights to think about a new manager for next year. Of course, they have treated him badly and with their normal class but I don't see any clear constructive dismissal case. I guess you could argue one re losing his overall contract with them as a youth team coach but not sure that would fly.

Rangers' press release:

Quote:

"We had a problem. And, uh, we tried to do everything we could.

You know what I mean. He's gone, and we couldn't do nothing about it. That's it.

He's gone. He's gone. And that's it."

Re having sympathy for him, that's one thing. Recognising he's been treated terribly is another. Your employer shouldn't be giving off the record briefings about your mental fragility for all the world to discuss. If that's the case, he should have been taken out of the limelight before Sunday's game. If the story about him not even being able to pick the team or talk to the players is true (aside from the fact he should have walked there and then) then he shouldn't have been put in that position.

Anyway, he can go back to being a convener on a Celtic bus without any conflict of interest.
