Saw Alves at the start of September last year play for Portugal against Hungary and despite the Portuguese keeping a clean sheet, I thought Alves looked poor.

Watched Skrtel for Slovakia six weeks later against Scotland and I thought he looked solid but NOT spectacular albeit it was a very defensive performance.

I suspect Skrtel is probably better than Alves but that is not saying much. To pay £2.8M and give him a contract probably worth at least £30K a week for three years is financial madness
He's on 60k a week now, why give up his last big payday to play for that basket case of a club, it's a moonbeam to flog ST's. Even if it did happen it's a huge waste of resources.

If it is a three year contract he will probably take a cut on his current base to get the extra years. Read that he was on £40K as opposed to £60 but you could be right - no idea of Fenerbahce's pay structure.

Agree that its financial madness on their part if its true.

Wages are huge, TV money is high and taxes are low. It's a very attractive league, to give that up to halve your wage and play Killie 4 times a year would be mental imo, but Stevie G eh? ;)

I really just think it's the usual mixture of moonbeams and lazy journalism.

Just looking through some of the dross they still have hanging about.

Joe Dodoo still has two years on his contract

It's going to cost them a fortune just to clear the place out.

I see the “if/then” catastrophising has started already. :lmao:
It's just nuts. I just rewatched the title clinching 5-0 game and we were absolutely brilliant that day with not one failure on the field. 5 flattered them as it could very easily have been 8 or 9. We are so far ahead of them that I have absolutely no worry about who they sign for next season. We don't need to do anything and we'd still be comfortably ahead of everyone next season. However we will do what's needed to strengthen areas that require it. New contracts for Ajer and Rogic ensure that we will stay firmly out in front. Relax and enjoy.....

I've heard this "pack :ffs: of cards" pish a good few times as well. That we're going to fold if we don't make CL group stages is crazy. They also seem to think Ntcham and McGregor are both pretty poor and that we're buying the likes of Lewis Morgan because all of our money is on wages.

Absolutely deluded.

Their best bet is us making the group stages, it's at least a distraction from the league and might help them somewhat. Fuds.

I just had this pointed out to me. The official Aberdeen twitter promoting season tickets

4 year deal for a 29yrr old average epl player. 3 year deal and transfer fee for a 33 year old over the hill centre back. A 2 year deal for an ageing goalkeeper. Ffs will these carrots ever learn ? Also if Lucas Leiva is coming to Glasgow it won't be for that shower of tossers

Skrtel played in barely 60% of Fenerbahce's 34 league matches this season. Two separate injuries, and a couple of suspensions.

He was only slightly more active during the season than Alves was for the Zombies.

I hope they crash out as much money on him as possible. They would have got more value trying to get Christophe Berra at the start of last season than either Skrtel or Alves.

The prospect of having a moderately paid no name hasbeen clearly doesn't fit the policy of having overpaid 'name' hasbeens though.

The length of contract won’t matter to sevco, King is an untrustworthy lying bastard who only cares about the here and now.
Contracts are worth feck all as far as he’s concerned, he’ll sit out any dispute for years if he has to.

McGregor is a good deal for them though, think he’s around the same age as our first pick goalie.

Martin Bain has been made redundant by Sunderland. It would be really funny if he wound up at Sevco.

Sunderland deserve all they get for employing him in the first place.

His testimony to the FTT makes it clear that he views the job of the CEO as being to take no responsibility for anything at all

Does he go round putting the Rangers cakes in front of the Celtic cakes, then eat them all?

Fat bastard, to think he was the go to guy for the MSM when the shampoo hit the fan in 2012, even though Sir David had banned him and his bigoted shampoorag from Ibrox because it was so sectarian.
