Defoe is still a good player, but he isn't moving to sevco.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
They can only spend what they bring in.

£10m is what they spent in reality because it is all they had. The PR through piecemeal, sensationalist reporting may have tried to convince everyone otherwise but the accounts tell us all that is needed to be known.

Even at that they lost £6m that year due to non recurring costs. I wonder if we will see different non recurrring costs this year.

I get your point but but the end of the day they are constrained by cash. To maintain that level of spend they need to raise £6m in a rights issue.

Sticking to the numbers keeps things real which is exactly what they don’t want.

On £29m turonover they can just about breakeven at £10m first team squad costs. Assuming no non recurring costs.
 It's all about the money

A loss-making clumpany with a £29m turnover versus a profitable club with a £100m turnover

surely this was written as the new Sevco anthem , the words fit nicely

Looking a Defoe's stats hes only a 10-12 goals a season scorer with a goals to games ratio of 0.33. Not worried in the slightest but he would be a huge waste for money them lol
Jermaine Defud?
Quite like him to be honest his full heart and love to the wee Bradley fellow that passed away was pretty emotional to watch from outside.

Seems a good geezer.

Defoe is on a seriously mental contract at Bournemouth. Mental. Length and wage. There is a less than zero chance he’s chucking guaranteed multiple millions away in likely his last ever contract to cut about for a pish Scottish team on a fifth of the salary.

The only way the Defoe story would be a goer is if he’s reached the conclusion that he can no longer make an impact in the EPL and offers to rip up the next two years of his contract at Bournemouth.

Or he fancies a chance at playing against Europe's elite?

Now that would be Progrès for him ;)

The sevco shopping list has all the air of Joey Barton and Niko Kranjčar. How difficult can it be for stars like these do have a lazy football life in jockland and pick up a wage in the process?

Unless I am mistaken, any European competition bans that have been administered recently have come directly from UEFA?

Is there the precedent of even one being handed out by a national association?

Well aware clubs fail on licensing and FFP criteria, which is again ultimately failing to meet UEFA compliance.

Anyone expecting an SFA ban on Sevco being admitted to European competition may not be wrong in terms of the justification for such a punishment, but they are clearly framing it early as the severest of measures that is only likely to bring future disappointment.

Will be interesting to see if there are any Oldco legacy employee departures from Sevco prior to 26 June.
I believe the Turkish FA handed out a Champions League ban to Fenerbahce, at UEFA's request.
I guess we could get into the semantics of who actually administers bans through club licensing or FFP all day, because ultimately there is something actionable on the part all national associations over adherence to UEFA rules. But the point is that in recent cases that have been "current" and applied to participation in future tournaments, UEFA have wielded the ban hammer.

The difference in this case is I don't see that UEFA have shown any real interest in this Sevco case, save to say its an SFA issue and that any sanction would have applied in 2012/13 (as erroneous as that always sounded).

Partly I suspect because they don't want to have to admit that a club gained entry to one of their competitions when they explicitly should not have. They would lose credibility and it might sweep in a number of other historical claims.

The Huns have never been shy in creating new precedents though.
I think that uefa haven't got involved because they don't care.
Sevco ain't going to do anything In Europe for many years,if ever so they are a tiny tiny club in uefa terms.
Any team that will ever be put out of Europe will be a tiny team with little muscle or backing by anyone of significance.
If it had been a middling type team I think uefa may well have taken a stronger attitude.
A big team-- no way
A tiny team-- who cares..

Huns thinking that they'd seen the last of Tom Rogic must be reeling now that the Aussie Hunslayer has signed up for five more years. At this rate they'll have to play McGregor and Foderingham at the same tim to stop him.

Are McAllister & Gerrard going to be playing?
They're the 2 biggest names they'll have next season & that's if they even turn up - but SSB was hilarious anyway.

It’s obvious that some people in the media still don’t grasp the financial reality, not just of Sevco but of the riches on offer down south too. We had this to an extent when Rodgers was appointed and we were linked with guys like Joe Allen and Danny Ings who would have cost upwards of £15 million each and probably £60,000+ in weekly salary.

No doubt talks for all these superstars, will come to a juddering halt just after their ST deadline and they’ll end up signing Lafferty.

Thick effs deserve to lose their money. Absolute effing imbeciles.

I like Defoe as a player and from what I've seen and read about him he seems a good man.
There is absolutely no way he will be going to sevco. I think it's quite funny that sevco fans are excited about the hint of a prospect of getting him though..

I remember Jermaine Defoe was advertising for a personal assistant at £60k a year. Sevco would be lucky to afford them.
