They have to respond in a proportionate manner.

I'm fairly sure as well that they wouldn't have taken the steps they have without being very confident of their case.

A multiple year European ban would be a good result and actually quite a naturally just one.

It would be an absolute disaster for them and a massive bonus for us given we'd have to finish third not to get the CL spot.
Definitely would be proportionate to the crime.

I just don't have any faith in it happening, given they've already gotten away with over a decade of cheating which resulted in a 250k fine and an 18 month embargo.

Unless I am mistaken, any European competition bans that have been administered recently have come directly from UEFA?

Is there the precedent of even one being handed out by a national association?

Well aware clubs fail on licensing and FFP criteria, which is again ultimately failing to meet UEFA compliance.

Anyone expecting an SFA ban on Sevco being admitted to European competition may not be wrong in terms of the justification for such a punishment, but they are clearly framing it early as the severest of measures that is only likely to bring future disappointment.

Will be interesting to see if there are any Oldco legacy employee departures from Sevco prior to 26 June.

Their kit launch has been delayed. Players will have kit for the start of the season, but won’t be on sale until nearer Xmas. They’re not happy.

I believe the Turkish FA handed out a Champions League ban to Fenerbahce, at UEFA's request.

Xmas?

That can't be right. Those bears need them for the Fair Fortnight.
How else will holidaymakers from other climes know which team the knuckledraggers support? (Apart from the smells, looks, shocking behaviour, etc.)

I believe the Turkish FA handed out a Champions League ban to Fenerbahce, at UEFA's request.
I guess we could get into the semantics of who actually administers bans through club licensing or FFP all day, because ultimately there is something actionable on the part all national associations over adherence to UEFA rules. But the point is that in recent cases that have been "current" and applied to participation in future tournaments, UEFA have wielded the ban hammer.

The difference in this case is I don't see that UEFA have shown any real interest in this Sevco case, save to say its an SFA issue and that any sanction would have applied in 2012/13 (as erroneous as that always sounded).

Partly I suspect because they don't want to have to admit that a club gained entry to one of their competitions when they explicitly should not have. They would lose credibility and it might sweep in a number of other historical claims.

The Huns have never been shy in creating new precedents though.

It's getting to the point where BBC Scotland could fill just about the entire news bulletin with adverse stories concerning Rangers (IL) and sevco.
This puss filled institution is leaking poison everywhere atm.
I think you’ll find it’s the fact that the BBC has been infiltrated with Marxists and Fenians that is to blame

Paul 67 in his CQN blog today re: SFA charges -

" If the charge stands there cannot be a token punishment. I expect a multi-year European ban."

Is it true that UEFA can't do anything because they are time limited?

Does anyone really expect the SFA to go out on a limb and hand Sevco a ban from Europe? Can't see it.
Or, maybe a convenient way not to grant them a license for the forthcoming season.

Their SLO is blaming the retail deal signed by their previous board for the delay. Obviously he never got the memo about that deal being ripped up.
