Former Rangers youth player (now a season ticket holder there) contacts Rangers asking for an apology and compensation for having suffered sexual abuse there during the 1980s.

Rangers response?

Naw pal, we're not the same club any more.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-glasgow-west-44126217
Such a disgrace. :nono:

Even by their standards this is ridiculously low.
Strange too as it's not the first allegation against him, a policeman's son made similar accusations and the club publicly said that they'd sacked him as soon as the allegations surfaced and were willing to cooperate with any investigation but the police hadn't been in touch. The response in that article is a disgrace.

No, their response it's that they're the same club, but that the company that "owned" them was responsible. Bet the wee boy never know he was playing for a company.
It's what they told the debenture holders, and is completely consistent with the franchise concept that the 5Way agreement introduced to Scottish Football as a way of keeping a club called Rangers in Scottish football.
The clubs had a chance to stop it 6 years ago, and decided to go along with it instead.

Congratulations to the res 12 bhoys- yesterday was a long time coming, and they must be very happy.

So they get to keep the titles and history, but any baggage, scandal or debts are to be taken up with the liquidators? Sound

And they wonder why they are loathed.

This has sent them into a effing frenzy over on the Swamp.

The want to boycott away games, take back the Free Broomloan, and resign from Scottish football - starting another "journey" in England's lower leagues.
Holy eff

Even by hun standards they have gone mental. They want to leave Scottish football, this is all out war, action plan against our enemies etc etc. Like a bunch of angry chimps throwing shampoo at each other.
I guess it would be one way of them stopping the ten.

Arseholes.

Then warned folk not to 'use it to have a go at (the) Rangers' - paraphrasing. effing unbelievable. Traynor's paws all over that shampoo.
This company/club crap needs to be put to bed once and for all, players no matter how young or old play for FOOTBALL CLUBS, not companies.

Exactly, leagues don't count when they're not in it.

If Stevie G falls flat I could actually see that gathering momentum. Unfortunately for them their board is absolutely spineless and just throw out the odd St Atement or anti Celtic pish to keep the hordes happy.

How's that campaign to cut our allocation going? ;)

Booooo. I'd love nothing more than for them to shell out £4 million of money they don't have and lord knows what on wages for a soon to be 34 year old defender

Goldson who had open heart surgery in February 2017 to replace £4million rated rangers captain Tavernier.

Going for gold Rangers want Brighton’s Connor Goldson as James Tavernier emerges as £3.5m transfer target for Crystal Palace
SunSport can reveal the Seagulls stopper is on Steven Gerrard’s radar as he tries to bolster his backline
Spoiler: click to toggle
No chance will Palace be in for Tavernier. Had it not been for De Boer, Palace would have been 7th or 8th in the EPL. Their owners also run the club very well and and they are looking to build on this season and push for a European place. Joel Ward currently plays RB for Palace and has the most EPL appearances of any Palace player ever.

On what planet does "Tav" come into contention as a player who can replace Ward and contribute to a club who are striving to improve on finishing just outside the top ten? Roy Hodgson might look like an auld idiot, but he isn't one.

just when you think they can't get any lower, they come out with that.

It's not just football fans that should rally against them, it's any decent person who wants to live in a decent society. They are a despicable organisation pandering to a dying extremist sectarian fanbase.
