Gerrard going all Chares Green. NEW DAWN New Rangers boss Steven Gerrard warns Celtic their days of ‘easy’ Premiership title wins are overThe Anfield legend watched the Ibrox side's thrilling 5-5 draw with Hibs at a Liverpool function in Dubai and can't wait to get started in his new job next month Spoiler: click to toggle By Mark Walker STEVEN GERRARD saw Celtic lift the Premiership trophy then warned them their days of easy title wins are over. The new Rangers boss also watched the incredible 5-5 draw at Easter Road in Dubai, where he was attending his final Liverpool club function before he officially takes charge at Ibrox on Gerrard said: “Celtic have had it their own way for far too long. “This is a massive opportunity for myself and Gary McAllister to go to a huge football club and try to improve things in Glasgow. “We go up and we will give it our best. Liverpool have been fantastic because they actually came to me and said that Rangers would like to speak to me. “I asked them what they thought and they have since given me every bit of support that I needed to go and take the challenge on. I go with Liverpool’s blessings.” Gerrard will travel to Kiev for the Champions League Final as part of his TV duties before taking the Ibrox job. And he pointed out, in a beach hotel Question and Answer session, that Rangers’ support is set to significantly increase. He said: “Every fan I have bumped into since the news broke are now Rangers fans too so that’s been a huge boost for me. “I have had so many good luck wishes and messages and it has been really great for me.” And Gerrard has told Rangers fans he wants to play the game in the same swashbuckling style as his mentor Jurgen Klopp. Gerrard added: “I think every fan in the world loves watching that. “He’s been absolutely massive for the club. You don’t want someone to pretend or bat back any question. He answers every single question with honesty and truth. “It’s one of his values that I hope to take.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2637380/rangers-steven-gerrard-celtic-easy-titles/
Ge55ard talking to The Sun - I'm sure Liverpool & the Scousers will just love that !
The Sun even after Hillsborough had access to Liverpool press conferences only last year did that change, but Liverpool players were never to give the Sun an interview 1 on 1. It finished Souness at Anfield. I think they’re just reporting what he said at the function, wasn’t a direct interview.

Do people believe that? The fact that John James still gets an audience in here suggests folk will believe anything.

Only 20 appearances last season...
Saving himself to THE RAINJURZZZZZZZ declan
Arfield is 30 this year as well No wonder he's taken a 4 year deal. Who else would give him £20K+ a week, knowing that his final 2 seasons are likely to be less fuitful than the first 2 purely because of age / declining fitness? their whole philosophy is stop the ten at all costs.
it remains to be seen whether they succeed, but at all costs may lead to bankruptcy.
They are not worried about season 3 and 4 of the contract.

So did Gerrard identify him to the board or did Mark Allen say look what we have for you?
"I am delighted to have added Scott Arfield to the squad for next season," said Gerrard.
"He is a talented and competitive midfielder who has competed at a high level in the English Premiership and internationally for Canada.
“It’s pleasing also that we have been able to start our rebuilding process so quickly after the end of the season.
"There is much more to be done of course as we look to build towards our Europa League campaign which will start in early July.
“Scott is the first one in and I look forward to working with him and the others who will be coming in to strengthen the squad.”

It was. He was in Dubai at weekend at an LFC fans gig. Yeah, I know, but I think the quotes are what he was saying to the crowd in general or when he was responding to questions.
He didn't sit down with someone from The Sun and give an interview or it doesn't appear that way.
Most papers are reporting the same quotes.

I was working in Manchester when that happened. The stories didn't do the carnage justice. Tesco and Aldi on Market Street had to shut their doors around midday, because hundreds of huns were walking in, picking up crates and spirits and walking out without paying. Gangs of unaccompanied 10 year olds with cans of special brew smashing car windows on Princess Street. Dodging paralytic huns aiming kicks at you from doorways as you made your way home (there was nothing to indicate I was a tim, but maybe they could smell it over the piss in their jeans?) The 2011 riots were nothing by comparison.
Thanks God they lost and thank God they died! Animals the lot of them.

I may have recounted this tale before but I think it's worth repeating my Mrs and I took my 5 year old Grandaughter to Fuerteventura about a fortnight before the final, my Grandaughter got friendly with a little girl the same age, the family came from Manchester, In conversation the subject of the final came up, the woman had the idea it would be a Gala Carnival occasion LOL !! (they were a very nice family ) I advised them and anyone they knew or cared for to stay well away from the City Centre on the day off the game she said really I said REALLY ! Back home watching the carnage unfold I wondered if they had taken my advice.

It was a mere formality, but nice to have it confirmed via Bert Kassies site that as of the second Europa League qualifying round (if they get there this time), the Huns will be unseeded.
Quite unbelievably they could face Sevilla in that round, but could also get all manner of obscure sides...the vast majority of whom will still pump them.

Is there a list of who has qualified? And the scheduled dates they will play? It is far from finalised yet as you can imagine as there are still many qualification spots up for grabs in about 35-40 different countries.
All details here though: https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/seedel2018.html

Sevilla AZ Alkmaar Maccabi Tel-Aviv Partizan Belgrade Burnley FC Molde FK FC Ufa
As well as a team from France, Germany and Italy who have yet to be decided by the looks of it.
- Rennes, Nice, Bordeaux - AC Milan, Atalanta - Leverkeusen, Leipzig, Stuttgart
There's a whole other bunch of teams in there, but that is some seriously good teams so early on

Every single one of those teams will make mincemeat out of the Huns. Them vs Sevilla or Leipzig would be a sight to behold.
