Who do Sevco play this weekend? Jackson spouts absolute bullshampoo in The Record John McGinn a Rangers transfer target as Steven Gerrard looks to beat off English clubs to sign Hibs midfielder Spoiler: click to toggle Steven Gerrard is weighing up an attempt to hijack John McGinn’s summer move across the border.
Record Sport understands Gerrard has been alerted to McGinn’s availability by director of football Mark Allen and head of scouting Andy Scoulding - both of whom have been tracking the 23-year-old’s situation for months.
In fact, the player and his representatives were made aware of Rangers’ interest before Gerrard was officially appointed as the new man in charge last Friday.
And the Ibrox boss in waiting dispatched a scout to Tynecastle on Wednesday night to run the rule over McGinn as the Hibs star suffered a derby defeat at the hands of city rivals Hearts.
Rangers director of football Mark Allen has been watching McGinn closely throughout the season
Now Gerrard - who has already drawn up a long list of summer targets - must weigh up whether or not to add McGinn’s name to his list and enter the bidding for one of Scotland’s most sought-after and valuable young talents.
But, if Gerrard does decide to make a move, he’ll face stiff financial opposition as it's believed a number of big- spending English clubs - including at least one from the Premier League - are preparing to come to the table with the bidding likely to start at no less than £3million.
Hibs boss Neil Lennon believes the club should be holding out for as much as £5million even though McGinn only has one year left to run on his Easter Road contract. And the player’s price could spiral if a number of potential bidders follow up their interest with firm cash offers.
Although most of McGinn’s potential suitors are believed to be championship clubs some top flight bosses, including West Ham’s Davie Moyes, have been monitoring McGinn’s progression since the start of the season.
But with doubts still surrounding Moyes’ future in London’s East End - despite him leading the Hammers to safety by the skin of their teeth - it remains to be seen if he will be in any position to lead the bidding.
Now Gerrard is mulling over the chance to get in early as he plots for his first season in senior management.
It’s understood the 37-year-old has drawn up a list of his own targets which includes a number of former team-mates and opponents from his time at Liverpool, with veteran defender Martin Skrtel among his preferred options. I thought gerrard hadn't talked about players yet ?

So the great Sevco Sale is underway.Happens every window. They need cash & they need it quickly.Windass has been the 1st guy linked with a move away for the past couple of windows.Morelos for China again,etc.etc.They're trying to generate interest in their players but making it look like they're in control, don't need to sell.Also.if,as reported, they need to generate more cash by the end of June then getting a couple out the door early might help.

“Striker Alfredo Morelos could go, with Chinese club Beijing Renhe weighing up another bid — but significantly lower than the £11million they tabled in January." Stop it, stop it, stop it. Stop it now. Please.

Were people not claiming Alves was on close to 30? If so, seems plausible (albeit mad) that Stevie Gee is on 40.
Rumoured to be on more than that, best paid player in Scotland. The Stevie G factor working already, 30k ST renewals so far according to sevco.
He isn't. 25k iirc, when he first signed for them I managed to get a look at his contract and the figures were definently not ridiculously high. You saw his contract? Do you work for sevco or the spfl?

Steven Gerrard will arrive in Govan on June 1 tasked with the job of steering the Gers ship back to the promised land of trophies and title challenges.
Lol even this pish stained excuse knows where they are, even a title challenge is more than they can muster.

You saw his contract? Do you work for sevco or the spfl? or lawyer's firm
remember working in aberdeen and a messenger from lawyer's firm dealing with AFC told us that "Billy Bingham" was in aberdeen when they were looking for a manager. He said, he would not say any more , but we had to draw our own conclusions. We rushed out to the bookies to get a price on Bingham who was not on any short lists but we couldn't get a price.
next day, Ian Porterfield was declared manager.

There’s claims that Cardiff and Burnley are willing to bid £3million for Windass. Can’t see why they would waste that sort of money on a guy who definitely isn’t good enough for the Premiership. Cardiff fans think Sol Bamba and Callum Paterson are great players. I can easily see why they'd spend money on a donkey like Windass.

Not the worst player, but a terrible attitude, so I hope he stays.

Windass story is a plant to flush out the real interest which is a league lower. They tried the same with Morelos in Jan but, at least the price is a bit more realistic this time.

They knocked back 500k from Preston in January, he was scoring a lot round that time too. Since then he's nosedived and the hordes seem to hate him, I'd be surprised if anyone offers over 500k again.

Durrant has not been paying attention, has he? “Steven will be hoping that he now gets the backing of the board to bring in the calibre of player that will allow him to challenge Celtic". CULL HERO Rangers legend Ian Durrant tips Steven Gerrard to give the Ibrox side an overhaul like Graeme Souness didSouness told a number of players their Gers career was over when he arrived in 1986 and the current squad may face a similar situation under Gerrard Spoiler: click to toggle By Alan Potts GRAEME SOUNESS walked into Rangers and told a host of players their Ibrox careers were over. Now Light Blues legend Ian Durrant believes another former Anfield hero will do exactly the same thing 32 years on. Steven Gerrard will arrive in Govan on June 1 tasked with the job of steering the Gers ship back to the promised land of trophies and title challenges. It will be the former England captain’s first job in senior management – just like it was for Souness all those years ago. But midfield icon Durrant – who survived the Souness cull – reckons Gerrard has what it takes to get the Ibrox side on the right course once again. He said: “Gerrard is a great addition to the Scottish game. “You think about what Souness did in terms of bringing in the type of players that he attracted. “Steven will be hoping that he now gets the backing of the board to bring in the calibre of player that will allow him to challenge Celtic. “The team needs an overhaul – AGAIN. Only a year after the last one. “It’s quite sad in a way, but that’s the way it is with a new manager going into the club with new ideas. He will want to play a different way and a few will go out and a few will come in. “Brendan Rodgers has gone into Celtic and worked with players who were in Ronny Deila’s side and getting stick. “It’s amazing what a manager can do. He can take a liking to you and it gives you a boost. “There wasn’t a fear factor amongst the players when Graeme joined. It was more seeing the calibre of player who was signing – that kept you on your toes. “When Souness came in, he said in his first meeting with the players that there was going to be a complete overhaul. “Within a week of him joining, 15 players left the club. “That showed you the scale of what he wanted to do. He saw an open sheet and said that, if you wanted to play, you needed to perform. “He set a standard. As a player and also as a player-manager that you had to reach and had to meet. “I’m sure Steven will be doing his homework on all of them now along with his assistants. It’s not as if Steven is going to go into something like this blind. “His eyes will be wide open and I’m sure he’ll be working with the director of football Mark Allen right now identifying players. “As soon as the season finishes, he will be right on it. The gap is there for everyone to see and the job for everyone is to catch Celtic. “Along with Rangers, there is Aberdeen and there is Hibs, who have been fantastic this season. “If you look at the individual matches this season, you would say that it’s been Hibs who have pushed Celtic the closest. “It shows that, on a given day, with the right performance and personnel, you can give Celtic a game. “But right now, they have the upper hand with their personnel. “The way Brendan Rodgers has been talking, it looks as though they are going to get stronger again, so that puts added pressure onto teams who are trying to close the gap on them.” Souness brought strength and power to a Rangers side who had limped over the line in fifth back in season 1985/86 – 15 points behind champions Celtic. Durrant believes there are too many players at Ibrox who are happy to pick up a wage. But he reckons they have one game left, against Hibs on Sunday, to prove to the new manager, and No2 Gary McAllister they have what it takes to be part of the new revolution at Ibrox. He added: “When Graeme came into Rangers, he spent the money that was there available to him wisely. “His first three signings were Chris Woods, Terry Butcher and Colin West. All of them above six foot tall. “They were physical and they came in and made a difference. Players at Rangers right now will be worried about their jobs. “You are looking at what Steven is going to bring in, who he is going to bring, so the players now have had the last two games and Sunday’s cup final with Hibs to prove they should be part of the new manager’s plans. “It’ll be worrying times for them in terms of who will be going and who will be staying. “Maybe Rangers have too many players in their squad. You see pictures of them sitting in the main stand. “Steven will go in and I’m sure he’s got ideas. I’m sure he’s got an eye for recruitment in terms of what he wants, how he wants to play, how he’s going to combat other teams. “The recruitment has to be bang on now. I’m sure they are looking now ahead of a tough game against Hibs. “If they qualify for the Europa League, they are at it right away. “Rangers would need to play three qualifiers to get into it, so it would be an early start but I think that would be a good thing. “You want to play in Europe and Steven will want that. “Gary McAllister knows Scotland and he’s a Rangers fan. “He’ll give pointers because Steven will be going into a whole new thing. “I know he’s been at Liverpool, but it’s a whole new thing at Rangers and every little will help him. “Gary will be a great addition to the club and, hopefully, he can push him on.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/2623939/rangers-legend-ian-durrant-tips-steven-gerrard-to-give-the-ibrox-side-an-overhaul-like-graeme-souness-did/ That's far too coherent for a Durrant interview, probably went more along the lines of 'wur gonnae git the fenians WATP'

He'll soon be back at Accrington Stanley where he belongs. The £3 million is a release clause though.
For a guy thats scored more league goals than Dembele, Sinclair, Edouard and Griffiths, its actually a bargain
