I doubt Close Bros would be interested in the TOP issues? Surely they were aware of these at the time of the loan? IMO the only thing that would trigger talks is missing a payment deadline, surely?
Robert Grieve has a new name for rangers "Jimmy Nicholl’s adopted side", Apparently "RANGERS refused to accept second best in the fight for second top".
NOT DON YET MATCH HIGHLIGHTS: Aberdeen 1 Rangers 1 – Race for second set to go down to wire as both sides share the spoils at Pittodrie Kenny McLean opened the scoring with a controversial penalty before Ross McCrorie headed home a second-half equaliser

By Robert Grieve
RANGERS refused to accept second best in the fight for second top. Aberdeen were looking good for their first win over the Ibrox club this season after Kenny McLean netted a first half penalty.
But Ross McCrorie headed his second goal of the season to earn a crucial point. Both teams now go into the final game of the season with hopes still alive of finishing Best of the Rest. The Dons take on Celtic at Parkhead with Rangers going to Easter Road where they’ll face Hibs who are also still right in the mix Derek McInnes and Jimmy Nicholl will both feel frustrated after this pulsating 90 minutes at Pittodrie. But the final result was just about right.
This was always going to be a night when referee Steven McLean had his work cut out. It’s never easy money for Scotland’s whistlers when they’re asked to take charge of things when Aberdeen face arch rivals Rangers here. Here was no different. Frantic from start to finish, McLean really needed eyes on the back of his head to keep a watch on everything that went on. The penalty he awarded the Dons after 14 minutes was hugely controversial. When Alfredo Morelos and Kenny McLean – no relation – came together inside the box there was one big question the ref had to answer. Who got to the ball first?
At first look it seemed that the Aberdeen midfielder had managed to nick a touch on it before being clattered a nano-second later by the Colombian. Which in all fairness explained the official’s decision to point to the spot. But the more closely TV replays were studied, the more questionable it got with Morelos every right to claim he was hard done by. His team-mates certainly pleaded his innocence with a handful of them surrounding McLean after he made the call.
But he was never going to change his mind. The upshot was that Aberdeen had a huge opportunity to go 1-0 up and really grab the initiative. Main man McLean – destined to join Norwich City for next season – did just that by calmly slotting his spot-kick past Jak Alnwick with ease. The sense of injustice riled Rangers.
Their anger led to four men being booked before the first half was out, David Bates, Graeme Dorrans, Andy Halliday and Jason Holt all cautioned with only Sam Cosgrove yellow carded for the Dons. But the Ibrox side needed to channel their frustration. They were dealt a blow when Graeme Dorrans went off injured on the half-hour with Sean Goss taking his place. But there wasn’t enough going forward from the likes of Morelos, Daniel Candeias and Jamie Murphy. Aberdeen could have gone two or three goals ahead before the break such was their dominance of the first 45 minutes. McLean was outstanding, their driving force in the middle of the park.
They’ll sure as hell miss him when he moves to the English Championship after Sunday’s final game of the season against Celtic. The former St Mirren star rattled the crossbar after 31 minutes with the frame of the goal shuddering when it was struck. After 40 minutes McLean had another half-chance but mistimed his volley and didn’t connect well enough to beat Alnwick. The home support would have been confident going in to the second half. They’d seen nothing to suggest they were going to be heading home disappointed like they have done in all three previous games against Rangers this season. But Jimmy Nicholl’s adopted side raised their game considerably when they came back out.
The away fans should have been celebrating after 57 minutes. James Tavernier clipped in a cross from the right which caught out the Dons defence and found Morelos at the back post. It seemed certain the striker would score but his header was aimed straight into the arms of keeper Joe Lewis who clutched the ball with a sigh of relief. It was another bad miss from Morelos to add to his catalogue. It was the type of chance that Kenny Miller, for instance, would have buried. It wasn’t long before Rangers were level, though, as they scored after 63 minutes to make it 1-1. Morelos cut inside and drilled a shot which smacked centre half Scott McKenna and flew up into the air. The Scotland defender tried to adjust his position and jump for the second ball but McCrorie came steaming in to power his header home. It was all about desire from the youngster. He sensed an opportunity to score a vital goal for the team and simply wasn’t going to let anyone stop him by getting in his way.
Rangers looked more likely to grab a winner after that. Aberdeen were put under the cosh, Morelos having a shot blocked by McKenna before substitute Goss blasted over from inside the box. At the other end Greg Stewart – on for Cosgrove – missed the target after a cut-back from Stevie May. In the end the draw had to be accepted by both sides and supporters who now go into Sunday with all to play for.
Tavernier said he was happy with the draw, the chimps on FF are going mad about it. Wasn't that long ago he was saying he wants a treble and would be happy to play Celtic every week

I think we will look back at this and point to Dave King's Q&A as the point this sitcom finally jumped the shark. There have been points in the story where we were asked to stretch our credulity, but the Q&A put a big capital "IN" in front of the word. The writers finally took it too far. I've enjoyed the way that events created by the writers have conspired in a seemingly random way to join up in a moment of hilarity, some of the ingenius ways to wrest comedy out of a mundane situation have been just brilliant.
But it's now getting to the stage where the ineluctable progression to a comedic peak is just too predictable. Everything has to end in chaos and disaster, the occasional rally on the football field isn't enough anymore to give us the sense of normality which the off field antics need to make the comedy fall unexpected and hilarious.
I'll keep watching off course and I expect the writers themselves will rally and give us a few more twists and turns to brighten our day. But when all this is over we will look back and see the Dave King Q&A skit as the moment that signalled the end game, the final series and the point at which we all knew it had run its course.

If the european license issue is true, who would take their place? Kilmarnock?
"Torres may be stretching it a bit but gerrard should have guys he's played with who are around 32/33 who are willing to do him a favour. A few of them and some good loans and we should be good."
I asked him about all the guys still on high wages pena etc and he said "think we may be able to rip up his contract"
Not fussed about king either - doesn't think he has to go to get things moving
And he's a sensible one what is it with them they'll never learn
You could get a clown to dress up in a blue suit shirt and rangers tie with a massive pair of clown brown brogues stand outside Ibrox and they would gather to listen intently
Actually that's not a bad idea for a new mascot for them

The idea that guys in their 30s who will be looking for a final big pay day before they retire will give it up to do a favour for a pal is touchingly naive.

Would it not depend entirely on the loan agreement?
Failing to comply with a court order might be a breach that would allow the lender to seek early repayment.

I don't know if that Dave King Q&A would even make my top ten. My top 5 banter years highlights are (in no particular order)
1. Charlie Greens Christmas message 2. Bomber B show us the deeds/youz buy ra pies 3. Pedro arguing with the fans standing in a bush after Progres 4. Craigie Whyte standing on the courtroom steps after a not guilty with that braw new beard and winning smile 5. Charlie Greens Dallas Cowboys/Adidas sponsorship deal with Claudio Reyna and Carlos Bocanegra as rangers/Adidas ambassadors mega moon beam. What a week that was
