Sevco will be eating into the season ticket money as of now. They would only have borrowed from close brothers what was necessary to tide them over until the gullibillies started coughing up their hard earned. So the tank for next season is already draining out.
They'll have gone through around £10m of it just keeping the lights on between now and the start of August

When will these muppets wake up and smell the coffee ?

The whole thing seemed to stem from folk refusing to believe that Gerrard would take the job without being promised an incredible transfer kitty. But this was a guy seriously considering accepting the MK Dons job last year. And as I pointed out the other day (rather flippantly admittedly), Paul Scholes tried and failed to land the Oldham job a few months ago. I’ve no idea why people think Gerrard has great bargaining power as a manager or a wealth of amazing job offers on the table. His choice for next season was between managing Rangers’ first team or managing Liverpool’s kids. Beyond that, he could have applied for the vacancies at Barnsley or Chesterfield. This is about as good as it gets for a rookie manager - even one who was an outstanding player.
This I did find strange.

He might be a coup in terms of a name, but he was in no position to start listing his demands given he’s a complete unknown as a manager.

I mean, FFS, we didn’t want exactly hand Brendan the sort of warchest they were all ranting about ha ha ha
This hasn't passed the sages on RM.

They mention that BR got Dembele, Sinclair and Griffiths with change out of £6million. Or how BR got Ntcham for £4.5million.

This is all based on the FACT that Gerrard is getting £6million and look at what Celtic got for less than that.

It should also be noted that these players are constantly slagged on RM for being crap and pumped up by a Timmy Mhedia.
The genius on that place knows no bounds :cuckoo:

We must be getting close to the point where we have a splinter team in the offing.

We Are The Peoples Front of Sevco!
They'll buy Cowdenbeath.
(Aye) Ready-made club with a Hun fanbase in the heart of Fife.

Phil's latest on that is that talks are ongoing with Ashley but he's being non-committal because he knows he holds all the cards.

https://philmacgiollabhain.ie/2018/05/06/a-deranged-marriage-at-ibrox/

I guess the poster was referring to that article when he said "last I heard".

Nope he had an article way before then, around the time the deal was announced.

I've seen Sevco announce the kit manufacturer but seen hee-haw regarding who will be stocking/supplying the kits or handling the merchandise for them.

Or do Hummel arrange that?

Pay them 3m per season for the privilege of providing them the gear and handle all the logistics and sales?

Maybe their mega-store will deal with it? Does Ashley still own that store or has he relinquished ownership?

Has Park resigned yet?
Assuming this is the news they are sitting on until after 11:30pm?
No. It is the full text of King's ramblings and it is incredible stuff.

I believe the embargo is 10.30pm.

I reckon this stinks of desperation, it’s the last throw of the dice by Dave King, here’s hoping his namesake Billy rattles in a goal for Dundee Hibernian tonight to further cement the misery.

Was told that Gerrard is getting a cut of merch sales and shirts with Gerrard printed on it. Sounds like basic image rights so no big surprise really. Anyone else heard that or is my neighbour full of pish?
JJ had that rumour last week, along with 20 mill for transfers every season. I know which one is more believable.
"Personally, I think it's disgusting for a player to ask for image rights from his club," Gerrard said in an interview with The Guardian.

"I believe that when you sign a contract, you sign your image rights over to them. They pay you well, and you're working for them. Maybe it's different if you're Messi or Ronaldo."

Those were Steven Gerrard's thoughts on image rights in 2015.
Technically, this wouldn't be a player asking for image rights...

Sevco are now all-in on the Dave King bus. There are no other "mystery investors".
So their future depends on a skelly-eyed crook and sociopathic liar.
They are running out of cash, and directors, fast.

And I love it.

I wonder if the plan was to get Gerrard signed up on the promise of investment, then spend the weekend phoning around, going "hey! We've got Gerrard signed up, any chance of some money?" to anyone with cash who is staunch enough to take the call.

Roll round Monday afternoon with a press conference of supine hacks to face off to and it's Plan B: fleece the hordes with a share issue scheme that will no doubt see the Takeover Panel's barrister earning a nice little overtime wedge at Bank Holiday rates this evening!
 Plan, there's no plan - King is being backed further into a financial corner
He won't make the TOP payment, two directors have walked and there will be no more soft loans, payday loans or any other kind of loan.

All he has left is to shaft the gullible idiots, and a share issue is his last throw of the dice
SG is just a smokescreen - big name player, no name manager but they are frothing up with the battle fever just like they do with every other charlatan that hitches their kilt.
He just needs their money.

Is there any basis for this news embargo stuff ?
A large number of press releases have embargoes, for various reasons - usually because a company has a particular time when they want a story to break. This one does seem rather odd in the sense that some info from today’s press briefing was obviously allowed to be reported immediately. Not sure why other stuff would be held back (and 10.30 or 11pm is a particularly strange time for an embargo to be lifted) but I’d be very surprised if it contained any earth-shattering news.

Dave King invited a select number of "journalists" to his press conference this afternoon, so maybe he is allowing them to present the full press conference by which tie he will be out of the country.

Then again it could just come from the news over on RM that DK held things back that will be announced later on. The £^million was just the start further investment to come.

I'm not sure if it will be that, he's already said that's happening and wants it to proceed straight away, so I don't see the need for the news embargo over that bit of info.

Very rarely go onto Rangers Media, but just had a peek.

Among the first couple of posts I read some charming fellow was wishing death on Billy McNeill.

While others were claiming the Singapore millions, Michelle None and Fenway rumours were all made up by taigs anyway.

It's a strange place that forum.
