Imagine your wife took up with a gangster and serious threats were made on your well being at the same time your protector has suddenly been removed from the picture. Then a job offer in another country comes up that removes you from harms way and keeps you in the public eye at the same time.

Would you be bothered about the finer points of that timely job offer?
Has Alex done a runner?
The story about Alex and the gangster is an old one, Gerrard was a young lad at Liverpool at the time. I don't believe it is particularly relevant anymore, it certainly isn't brought up in Scouseland anymore. I work in Liverpool and booze in a Liverpool supporting pub. I think the murder on the St Helens Linkway is a mere coincidence.
Not what I've heard, its very much still the gossip in the WAG circles as I was told yesterday.

It certainly provides Stevie with a strong motive for accepting the poisoned chalice.

In fairness to King I am struggling to recall the last time the huns were dealt a healthy dose of reality by the men in the blue room.

No wonder they are in meltdown. They can’t handle the truth.

So much so that they’re now going out of their way to convince themselves that if you add up all their revenues, forgetting the small matters wages and operating costs, there is in fact many many millions for Stevie G to spunk away in the summer.
For once, King seems to be the innocent party here. He said nothing last week or during the Gerrard press conference to suggest major investment was forthcoming. If people wanted to believe daft internet rumours, that’s their problem.
King compliant media were pumping out signings sanctioned by Gerrard, Gerrard has a list, war chests etc. All part of the con. King is playing mind games with the Huns. Get the fake news out. Over on Sevco media the confusion is at a high. King has the gullible ones exactly where he wants them.
That’s just standard media stuff. Guys like Skrtel, Joe Gomez and Danny Ings were linked with us when Rodgers came in due to the Liverpool connection. It’s just journalists taking a punt on guys he knows. Nothing King said last week suggested a major investment announcement was imminent.

Yeah, beyond all the smoke and mirrors it was just your typical push for season tickets. I'm now sceptical that the 'share issue' will even take place. If there were investors looking to make more soft loans then the Close deal wouldn't have been necessary, would it?

Phil MGB had the right of things all along.

Previous regimes may well have taken the decision to let those rumours ride for a few weeks. At least until the season tickets sold out.

The idea of a wealthy benefactor ready to gift them his personal fortune is like a fairy story huns read to their mini-wulliam and wulliamettes at night.

The hordes seem to have rationalised that they're going to be loaded because they have '3m from hummel and 5m from shirt sales'.

Yes, they're getting both of those. Apparently kit manufacturers don't make any money from kit sales while paying 3m to sell them, now.

Leaving aside the difficulty of doing a share issue while subject to a TOP ruling as mentioned above

They passed a resolution at their AGM allowing about 108 million new shares to be issued

Assume they are priced at 25p... “selling “ all 108 million shares raises £27 million
However... you then effectively gift shares to the directors who have ponied up loans... deduct £17 million

Take away about £1 million in costs

Pay back Close Bros £3 million

That leaves up to £6 million “raised” in cash after the loans are treated as purchases and converted to shares

And that assumes they can “sell” the shares which aren’t just being converted to equity

Will Club 1872 be daft enough to use whatever funds they hold to buy shares at that price to stop the share issue immediately diluting the value of what they hold ??
👍

And as a matter of principle the answer to any question beginning “Will Club 1872 be daft enough...” is inevitably yes.

From FF : "Its not just the guaranteed £6m from the share issue, they have £3m from Hummel, and £11m from season ticket sales and £5m shirt sales so it will be around £25m"

Thats got to be a timpostor.
Nah, James Traynor.

The desperation on folgensie folgensie to present this as King playing his cards close to his chest is hysterical. This has disemboweled the stupid knuckledraggers. This is worse than 5-0, which they had almost forgotten about. The thick ones still cling to hope; the less thick ones are in despair. They know it's over. :)

Colour me shockeroonied.

Some real zoomers on here and on hun media who had Sevco being re-funded by the GDP of a medium sized country, and there it is , in all its faded glory. A share issue. A feckin share issue that might, or might not, raise somewhere near or maybe not really near £6m . Feck me, that Stephen Gerard must be some manager in the making.
Stupid Hun bastards believed the whole story anaw. They are the thickest assembly of stupid bastards on the entire planet.

Every single time.
Gerrard has probably more down the back of his sofa than that share issue will raise.

The Huns are sheer comedy.

After this massive let down, they’re now adding up player sales to top up Stevie G’s warchest.

There will obviously be a massive queue of clubs lining up with open cheque books to take all their shampooe ha ha ha
Their latest ludicrous rumour is that the “real” big news is embargoed until 11pm, hence the damp squib of an announcement earlier. Once again, it’s the hope that kills them.
There isn’t any big news embargoed. This was done to prevent any questions being asked at Gerrard’s unveiling. The compliant press pack were told that King would address all financial issues on Monday.

Of course, no one asked him a hard question.

The whole thing seemed to stem from folk refusing to believe that Gerrard would take the job without being promised an incredible transfer kitty. But this was a guy seriously considering accepting the MK Dons job last year. And as I pointed out the other day (rather flippantly admittedly), Paul Scholes tried and failed to land the Oldham job a few months ago. I’ve no idea why people think Gerrard has great bargaining power as a manager or a wealth of amazing job offers on the table. His choice for next season was between managing Rangers’ first team or managing Liverpool’s kids. Beyond that, he could have applied for the vacancies at Barnsley or Chesterfield. This is about as good as it gets for a rookie manager - even one who was an outstanding player.
