I know your not supposed to speak ill of the unwell but as a footballer Ricksen bar 6 months in 2004/05 was a coward.

The sort of guy who would kick off with a young player in the opposition but cower from Lambert, Lennon, Thompson etc.

He was the poster boy for the sheer fragility of that lot when MON side was smashing them.

Steven Gerrard must contemplate a different sort of bankruptcy at Rangers after Old Firm mauling by Celtic - Roddy (James VI) Forsyth

Daily Telegraph

Spoiler: click to toggle
' The most telling measure of the chasm between these sides is that when Rangers fans spoke of stopping Celtic reaching seven, they meant goals, not titles.'

love it

Can only assume Hutton's nearing the end of his career. Pay days are about to become a thing of the past and he's angling for a media gig in Scotland, a la Boydy.

Given that he's doing a bit of "poping", he might not even get a RTV gig ahead of Shuggy Burns.

You'd almost think Mutton is going to be 33 & without a club in a few weeks time........

He could always try stand up comedy if Sevco don't want him back!

Moron.

What would breaking his legs have done to help Rangers' cause? Can't even spell Steve Clarke's name correctly.

At least he will be 'poping back in' though… Can't beat 'em, join 'em.
he knows if Villa get up through the play offs he's finished , he struggles to get into the team now. Maybe paving the way for his escape route , woefully overrated. Get him tied up huns.

I wondered where Kolo was yesterday.

Sitting beside John Clark behind the Sevco board.

Oh dear, look at the faces of the Sevco board, they know.

Danny Murphy's comments are interesting re. the Gerrard 'saga'.

"I can’t say if he’s taking the job yet because I don’t know – he doesn’t know – what’s in the war chest."

If it's true that Gerrard will only take over with a guaranteed amount at his disposal, that leaves two options. The most likely is that he doesn't go, and this is my opinion at the moment with all the information available. The other moonbeams option is that they manage to genuinely get some investment, but if that were the case... why would they want Stevie G? (They wouldn't).

No this all smacks of "we tried", they can't even get themselves linked with medium-names in the management game any more, so they're having to publicly court a famous persona to keep a semblance of hope alive for those in two minds about renewing their season books. That's all this is.

Wasn't he supposed to have been unveiled today, with a £20 million warchest? :lolhuns:
This is the point where the McInnes deal went south as well...

Wonder if that rumour will be reignited when they're due at Pittodrie?
Joleon Lescott too, as I recall. Word is they tried to change the terms they offered after he flew in, so he flew back out again with two fingers waving over his shoulder. Not the Sevco version of events, to be sure; but the truth never is!
Lescott got injured about 9 months later and the Orc believed their medical staff were geniuses to spot it. Nothing at all to do with not being able to afford him.

You wonder just how much due diligence Gerrard has done.

How does he shift 10 or 12 of that squad? Five are loanees, but only Miller and Bates are out of contract.

Similarly, can you imagine someone like Steven Gerrard being told by an overpaid spinner like James Traynor who he can and cannot talk to in media conferences? Can you imagine him being told he cannot talk to the BBC? It would reflect badly on him, something that Traynor and whoever else is happy enough with that policy fail to understand.

Gerrard is very much media conscious. Half of the appeal to him is probably the profile it gives him in England. Not being able to talk to the BBC cuts off a key element of that.
I also wonder if he has decent advisors

Not old pro’s who will offer clichéd responses but ye know - accountants and folk like that

Ones who can look at the figures, their accounts, the TOP decision and recent years loan supported mediocrity

Anyone who can look at that and say ‘this is a great opportunity Stevie’ is one of two things - mental or is in fact a full on GASL loving sevco fan

The two are not mutually exclusive I know - the person could be both
Never mind all that, has Sally sat down for a cup of tea with him yet, or has BFDJ
liked the cut of his jib ?

These will be the real acid test.

Reading Danny Murphy's comments that there has been contact between sevco and SG but they didn't tell him what his budget would be.
So it looks increasingly like a PR stunt by sevco. Of course SG would be interested in the job IF there's a decent budget on the table. Sevco didn't need to ask
It seems that all sevco has said is 'would you in principle' consider the job and inevitably SG has given the nod to that.
Cue sevco stirring up a big frenzy with the SMSM

If SG wants to know how much will be available, the figure stood at -£3m in the last set of accounts :lolhuns:

BFDJ ought to be an octavetastic experience tonight. Last week the best he could say about us was "...Celtic played well, within themselves".

High praise indeed!

Still not buying the Gerrard to the huns chat.

Surely to eff he's not stupid enough to take a job that both the Kilmarnock and Aberdeen manager bodyswerved?
I'm the same, it sounds like made up Dave King nonsense and even if it were actually true it would be a complete disaster.

The True Sevconian, in times of strife, must master the staunch artistry of St. Ating all when deemed pertinent, but also to St. Ate nothing when totally scunnered.

Hutton probably forgets that Scott Brown was in the starting 11 both times Hibs beat Rangers sides containing Ricksen and Ferguson 3-nil at Ibrox back in the 2005/06 season.

Thread, RM, for their last home game of the season starts of like this...

Lineup as follows:
11 impostors managed by a cardboard cutout of Casper the Friendly Ghost or some bin dipping tramp from Liverpool.

Last home game of the season, not going nor giving a eff about watching it.
eff the lot of them.
