They have now not updated social media for almost a full 24 hours. That might not sound like much of a thing, but it is virtually unheard of for a wannabe "big" club. It's a basic social media don't.
And? What you thinking?
Boardroom shenanigans, I reckon. Shut down all communications until the coup is complete.

Traynor's probably trussed up in a stationery cupboard somewhere, with a pair of socks stuffed in his mouth.

Is there any word on who won their POTY award last night, or are they still in lockdown mode ?
Who won their manager of the year?
How many clubs could actually have a contest for Manager of the Year, and dole out 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prizes?

Could this be a World Record?

Oh, and...

One of the best bits of business they could do is completely dispense with his services.

He is frequently the story. The opposite of what he should be.

Danny Murphy's comments are interesting re. the Gerrard 'saga'.

"I can’t say if he’s taking the job yet because I don’t know – he doesn’t know – what’s in the war chest."

If it's true that Gerrard will only take over with a guaranteed amount at his disposal, that leaves two options. The most likely is that he doesn't go, and this is my opinion at the moment with all the information available. The other moonbeams option is that they manage to genuinely get some investment, but if that were the case... why would they want Stevie G? (They wouldn't).

No this all smacks of "we tried", they can't even get themselves linked with medium-names in the management game any more, so they're having to publicly court a famous persona to keep a semblance of hope alive for those in two minds about renewing their season books. That's all this is.

Wasn't he supposed to have been unveiled today, with a £20 million warchest? :lolhuns:

That Gerrard will be another Lennon or Souness is utter fantasy.

The kind of money and players Souness had to work with is miles beyond what Gerrard could expect. The addition alone of a player of the standard of Souness was a massive boost to them and that's before you consider the players he bought.

Lennon inherited some decent players, had already proved himself somewhat at the tail end of the Mowbray season by winning all the post split games and had a good transfer budget after we sold McGeady. He still nearly came a cropper after a disastrous 45 minutes at Rugby Park.
Lennon inherited a load of dung.

McGeady apart, the team was littered with forgettable pish. Kamara, Brafeild and co.
The turnover in players that season was insane.

18 players went out permanently and 17 came in.

We actually made a considerable profit as well if Wikipedia is to be believed.

We got about a million and a half for McManus and Boruc, two and a half for Fortune and nine and a half for McGeady.

Lennon still had Brown, Wilson, Samaras, Maloney, Ki, McCourt, Hinkel (didn't play all season) and Crosas. There's some quality in there.

The squad which will be inherited by the next Chief Zombie has minimal resale value, will need money spent just to keep failed loan players and doesnt really contain any talent you would expect to build around.

They're also about to get Pena back any day.

Full length football ones I assume? Jabba would dispatch a pair worn with brogues with the same finesse as a seagull eating a kebab.

This is the point where the McInnes deal went south as well...

Wonder if that rumour will be reignited when they're due at Pittodrie?

I think they're attempting something biblical here.

Lazarus certifiably died - and so did Rangers.

Lazarus was 'brought back to life' in a way that no one can quite understand - just like 'Rangers'.

And when Christ called out "Come forth, Lazarus," he did indeed come forth - and now they're doing their best to follow suit.

Or it could simply be that Lazarus too was a zombie.

Joleon Lescott too, as I recall. Word is they tried to change the terms they offered after he flew in, so he flew back out again with two fingers waving over his shoulder. Not the Sevco version of events, to be sure; but the truth never is!

I'm not reading into it that it is radio silence prior to a big splash, or anything like that.

Just that in this day and age to let your Twitter, FB etc go silent for a full day is not really the done thing, no matter how demoralised you are.

When combined with zero interviews post match yesterday, it is certainly amateur hour.

Traynor has changed tactics so many times he clearly doesn't know what playbook to use now.
My guess is a tea time statement tonight that Murty has been relieved of his duties.

I thought that for once they weren’t doing the right thing. In the expectation of losing yesterday, they held off making any “positive” announcement until the game was done. Takes us off the back pages right away and gets the support behind them.

On the other hand, it just looks like they had - and continue to have - eff all to say, and they’re now just hiding under their desks.

An absolute shambles.

He'd be off for a spot of gardening, most likely.

I guess it comes down to who they think will make less of a James Hunt of the final three games and the "fight for second". Murty, or a Jimmy Nick/JJ combo.

Choices, choices.
