Apparently there’s another press conference on Monday finally announcing this investment.
Where are you hearing this?
Just from one of them, I’ve no idea where he heard it.

For me this is somewhere in the middle of the two extremes on display.

The Spikey Golf Shoes contingent on here just assume the Huns will never ever ever again get something right, or even get lucky.

The other end of the Spectrum is the Moonbeam brigade over the river tonight and the rest of them in the media. The article in the Independent today for example was cringeworthy.

He will command respect in the dressing room in a way Pedro & Murty never could, hes definitely a bigger name than Warburton but at this stage is he a more seasoned coach/tactician?

If he is indeed gonna collapse and burn, then it will be their own doing as usual with the delusional expectations they've already piled on him. The majority of them can't be cautiously optimistic, there is always a triumphalist circus at the emergence of any potential positive step for the club. The person in focus never lives up to it because its obviously delusion, they then chase said person - Paul Le Guen, John Fleck, Jamie Ness, Mark Warburton, Joey Barton, Barrie McKay off the top of my head.
Yip. The assurity with which some talk re-huns is verging on fenian moonbeams.

The truth is somewhere in between.

I think theres investment. Every man and their dog was saying Gerrard wasn't taking the job, using it for PR etc.

Now by no means do I think investment will be anything like on the scale being reported but unless they die again they will do everything they can to topple us and stop the 10 (by legal means or not). Nobody should be surprised by investments because their board and crooked commander in chief will legitimately DO ANYTHING it takes. Whether it ends in death...well that's someone else's problem at the end of the day.

Dave and the bears would be well off into the sunshine at that point.

Thought he came across quite well in the interviews. Professional in the way that someone who has paid attention to the media coaching they have received should come across. A step up on those that came before. Got his own stock messages across, didn't answer the key questions and didn't open any trap doors that he would be reminded of in future. Basically a few positive statements to get the hoard onside and placate them at SB time without saying anything about how he would deliver any improvement.

Actually agreed with Craigan on BT (maybe a first  ) in that the risk is really all with Rangers on this. When he fails (and he will) he can go back south blaming all manner of circumstance beyond his control and that will be accepted with little challenge. For Rangers, however, they face another season of (over) investment with the prospect of little return. Don't know why Sutton thinks we will be scared of this :ponder: Maybe it's his way of trying to provoke Celtic into a response and investment akin to when we hired Rodgers in response to that cup game.

I hope he comes and does improve them, slapping them about in their current state is becoming a bit tedious, we should be more than equal to any challenge he and his 'investment can bring.

Wins first game at somewhere like Hamilton 3-1 while we win 2-0 at home to probably feckin Hearts again - above Celtic, we welcome the chase!

Papped out of Europe - concentrating on the league this year.

Drops points at home to Hibs - needs his own players in, this is still Caixanha's team.

Scudded at Celtic Park - Get him tae eff, no a real Rangers man!

From "one Stevie Gerrard" back to Fenian bastard in a matter of months.
Sums it up perfectly

They really have whipped themselves into another frenzy of thinking this is the best thing ever.

The Huns I work with genuinely think that if Brendan had left and gone to Arsenal we would have been delighted to bring Gerrard in to Celtic.

Why don't they learn?
