All news stories of this will mention our win last week and 7 in a row, great extended publicity of the current situation. Where ever the gerrard story goes our utter dominance will be mentioned.

"I'm a winner"

Really? Here was me thinking you were the one that keeched your drawers when questioned against Chelsea.

The guy has had a career littered with almosts.

Ask Roy Keane if he thinks Gerrard is a winner.
As much I think this will be a complete train wreck, I don't think you can say that. League aside, Steven Gerrard has won every single trophy its actually possible to win at club level, including the Champions League. Roy Keane has never played in a CL final as far as I'm aware and he's never won it.

The reason Gerrard didn't win the league was his enormous loyalty to Liverpool. He could have went to Chelsea and got that medal but he choose to stay at the club he genuinely loved. That's a rare thing these days. As for his famous slip, that was just pure bad luck. He - and Brendan - should have got that title. We all know it.

Anyway, he's a zombie now so I want to see his dreams crushed regardless.
Keane's won the CL in 98? Gerrard was certainly a great player. He's in a new game now though- as others have found out, with more experience and real budgets.
He was suspended for the final.

He got a medal and he is a CL winner, they wouldn't have been there without him.

I see this appointment as a bit of a paradox. I can't see Gerrard agreeing to take the job without a good budget. But if Sevco have managed to secure funds from somewhere then why would they need to risk it on a 'name' rookie with no experience? Nothing about this makes any sense. All that to say I think this IS good news for the profile of the game in the short term. In a way it pitches teacher against pupil - it will create interest and boy will it be enjoyable when yet another new dawn goes tits up.
If Gerrard had been appointed manager of Tranmere Rovers or Macclesfield Town this summer, no one would be speculating that he must have been given assurances about budgets. More likely, folk would be saying that’s a decent first step on the managerial ladder. My guess is that Gerrard can’t believe that a club with 50,000 odd match-day attendees has offered him a crack at management and he’s jumped at it, as the alternative for him would almost definitely have been a lower league English outfit.
To call them "odd" is very charitable

"Warchests" ? "Mega investment" ? "Red Bull" ?

Because it's Stevie G - A list player, Z list coach.

Or perhaps, just perhaps, Gerrard was desperate for a manager's job......but had only been offered MK Dons.

Then he got a phone call from GLIB and couldn't believe his luck.

This is going to be a stretch here and will take some imagination to visualise but maybe the GASL actually told Gerrard the truth

Maybe Gerrard thinks it will be easy to get clear in second and closer to us by getting rid of some of their dross and replacing them with some frees and some Liverpool youngsters. He’ll certainly be arrogant enough to think it’s that simple and make himself look like a competent manager at the same time as working with a vastly inferior budget to his big rivals.

Like I said, you need to visualise it

To get away from all the pettiness on here I would just like to say I wish Gerrard all the best and may he win as many league titles with The Rangers as he did with Liverpool.

Paul Lambert has won more than Gerrard at club level.
