You guys are hilarious. If a poster suggests a view that is in any way musing that they can understand why the huns are excited about this, then that makes the poster a closet hun. If you knew how much I loathe everything that they represent, and how much I would love to see them wiped off the face of the planet, then you would realise how ridiculous your reaction is, but your use of smilies and one liners is really clever, and puts me in my place.
Make your talking pish..respectfully.

The full thing is to sell books & King to get his name out there with the Orcs after his last 3 disasters managerially. He will get them players ..aye but the fact they have appointed an 18's manager with 9/10 months experience in a youth league to be frank..... is nonsense.

We (you as well) should be enjoying this comical spectical for what it is. Another magnificent chapter on "the journey"

Sit back and laugh like the rest of us.

Cheers, mate  I get it. Just hate the idea that any one would think I'm a hun :boik: just because I have a different take on things to theirs. Believe me I will enjoy their collapse as much as anyone

I’d argue that the English lower leagues are a graveyard for wannabe managers as one bad job basically writes you off forever. Whereas, the profile of Rangers is high enough that provided it’s not a total disaster, he’ll be welcomed back down south. Warburton had a horrific final six months at Ibrox yet still managed to walk into the Nottingham Forest job. As John Barnes discovered, however, failure at Tranmere means you’ll never work in football again!
John Barnes got one of the biggest jobs in British football before he got the Tranmere gig though and – despite spending healthy sums and being backed by a Celtic legend and ultra experienced football manager – still made a royal arse of it. Barnes also inherited Lubo, Larsson, Mjallby, Lambert, Boyd, McNamara, Viduka, Stubbs etc etc and was funded in buying Berkovic, Petrov, Tebily, Rafael, Petta. The Celtic experience all but ruined Barnes' fledgling managerial career in a matter of months. Gerrard is inheriting a shambles of a squad at a time when Celtic have a massive financial advantage. There simply has to be more to this, imo, for Gerrard to risk ruining his managerial career before it ever gets off the ground.
Agreed. Can’t see him being that stupid or desperate. Fingers crossed though

Really? Here was me thinking you were the one that keeched your drawers when questioned against Chelsea.

The guy has had a career littered with almosts.

Ask Roy Keane if he thinks Gerrard is a winner.

Assuming that there are people with money willing to plough significant sums into Rangers, perhaps they are tied to Gerrard or have insisted on him being manager?

Either way I agree, more too this.

Seeing stuff on Twitter saying that Gerrard will have 25million to spend. That would mean someone is chucking £40million down the drain to still have less money than Celtic. It’s a genius business model.
But WATP
If some mad bastard is funding them (i know, i know) it can only be good as it means they are unable to sustain themselves yet again - super rich sugar daddy required - and will disappear into a black hole.

If King ever gets over his TPO shennanigans i think this appointment is for a share issue

How do you get a mob to buy into another share issue when you will be diluting their original holding worth that they have, bring in a name with a brand attatched to him and feed off that

Merchandise and season tickets will be flying out now as that mob believe anyhting if King says it's to stop Celtic

Gerrard somewhow managing to get a 4 year contract for a rookie manager means he is well paid, when it comes to parting company

share issue?...their last one raised almost nothing from fans...they cant have one just now pending King complying with TOP ruling...after that any money raised in a s share issue will either be used to repay loans (£20 million at last count) or will simply be a paper transaction converting these loans to shares with no actual money going into the club..

season tickets ...cant sell more than 40,000 odd thousand of them...at average £500 a pop that's £20million

merchandise...don't even have a strip ready for next year yet...cant sell merchandise you don't have...even if every season ticket holder spent £200 on merchandise that is only £8million in turnover...how much "profit" is in that

that £28 million turnover is less than we we get from CL entry..and of that £28 million, nearly £5million will be VAT to be paid to HMRC ;)

even if we don't get that CL money...we also have a bigger stadium...hence higher season ticket income...better merchandising operation too...better sponsorship deals...better players to sell.. etc etc

unless someone is about to hand them a sum in the region of £25/30 million a year they are nowhere near us...and there is no legitimate way that such money can be "invested"

I'm quaking!!

why is there more to this??

he is a guy who has been offered MK Dons to date...

has not been quoted for any other available managerial post anywhere...guys like Giggs/Neville/Scholes have similar profiles as players...have done nothing as managers

he wants to manage??..he has been offered what is a fairly big club which isn't on offer anywhere else...he can't sit as under 18 manager forever...got to take the plunge at some point??

it's a total stunt by King to get the gullibiliies to pony up...

There goes £5m.

You got to speculate to accumulate. Perhaps the investment is just Gerrard who will generate income in shirts etc. and perhaps the odd player. Revitalise the club.

What I don't get is if the above is true and McInnes and Clarke were given the same i.e. no assurances and therefore knocked it back; or they were given assurances and told King et al to bolt based on what was on offer, why not more experienced managers in Clarke or McInnes?

Another thing Rodgers was interviewed for job with others so why no apparent interview for Gerrard?

And why did Murray and Scott resigns if the answer was arriving?

That's the size of it Jim. They are so far behind off the park that very little anyone does on the park can or will make much of a difference. They probably need a 9 figure sum of free cash to alter the balance of power in Scottish football, in terms of rebuilding the squad, repairing the stadium, buying back outsourced revenue streams, repaying debt and rebuilding their merchandising business.

Anyone pumping any money into the Huns isn't doing it under the tenure of a glib and shameless liar or with a complete novice in the dugout. This seems most likely a ploy to get the deluded to renew season tickets before the renewal deadline in a fortnight and creating a feel-good atmosphere amongst shareholders that will stop them selling their shares when the glib makes court mandated offer. When no one is willing to sell up, saving the glib cash, he will then be able to issue new shares, which the masses will lap up, repay the internal debt and possibly give Gerrard a transfer budget.

Part of me wonders if Gerrard will ever manage a competitive match for them or if he will walk away citing broken promises and a lack of transfer funds.
