Is Gerrard taking this, if indeed that is what happens, due to some grudge with Rodgers?
Certainly seems that way. Skrtel as first target backs that up.
Fuxaches... :ffs:

His first competitive match could well be on the 12th July....assuming they finish 3rd or 4th in the league.

Quoting limited to 3 levels deep
I think this is a fairly common misconception. Uefa ownership rules only apply to clubs playing in the same competitions. As Newcastle won't be applying for a European license any time soon, there is nothing stopping Ashley buying Rangers outright. And even if Newcastle do get into Europe before they are sold, Ashley would be entitled to acquire up to 49 per cent of Rangers with no conflict of interest. This would easily give him a controlling stake. Like I say though, the issue only becomes live if both Newcastle and Rangers qualify for the Europa League.
Was it not the sfa who stopped ashley owning more than 10% in sevco due to him having a controlling interest in newcastle? Did they not take him to court/sfa hearing to enforce this?
I just googled it and you are right; it is SFA rules rather than Uefa ones that would stop Ashley buying Rangers while still owning Newcastle. My apologies to Fatboab.

So

Klopp didn’t want him for the vacancy at Anfield

How can he let this managerial giant slip through his fingers?

Will Sevco be paying for the Police bill today?
Don’t think they’ll need them. They’re not opening up the stadium apparently.

Front doors job
Hopefully Bomber Brown will be making an appearance.

How can one group of people be so gullible and get done time after time?

Appoint under 18's coach with less than a years experience yet are completely smokescreened by the name

Tremendous appointment for us.

First comment on the BBC website nails it.

I’m almost giddy at the prospect of Skrtel lumbering around up here for a few months. Senderous calibre of signing. Would be a great start.

everyone saying this is going to be a disaster, i would ask why?

with the team they have, and changing managers and all the mess they could still finish second in the league, with decent cup runs.
He must be thinking, what have i got to lose?
...unless, of course, he has fans that expect that they deserve better than that.

what this appears to me is this team spending all they have (and don't have) to stop ten in a row. Bit like dead rangers trying to equal our success. And we know how that ended.

Never a dull moment with this lot that's for sure.

To be fair to them - having experienced managers clearly hasn't worked so let's go for a total rookie. Can only see this backfiring once again.

They'll get a bounce before impoding again, it's the zombie way.

I remember reading an article that suggested Abromovitch bought Chelsea to raise his profile with his billions and make him a public figure this super raised profile would offer some protection from the hostiles he'd crossed in the past.
Beginning to wonder if Glib is going completely balls out here, in a stand off with the takeover panel in " the people's expectations are now super high and it'll not end well if you deny them".
None of this, makes sense, there's a huge chunk of the plot missing for this course of action to add up, currently.
