Just watched the durrant Ferguson one and thought it was excellent, always thought durrant was dour as eff but he’s actually a funny guy.
Thought it was pretty good too, laughed a good bit during it too. think Ferguson kind of talked over Durrant quite a bit when he tried to tell a few stories but the 2 bounced well off each other
he was some player and went through a heck of a lot to come back

would have been entertaining if i i'd been a hun or hadn't lived through it

Listened to the McNamara one. Quite liked it. Like most others - I've been pretty underwhelmed by McNamara interviews in the past. In fact, most of that Seville team are pretty dull when interviewed. But Jackie seemed slightly more animated than in any previous interview I've heard from him. Got quite emotional too when talking about his maw dying. Something that has always struck me about McNamara - and which has been hinted at by a few others, is that he sounds like he can handle himself? I'd by no means describe him as a 'dirty' or even a 'hard' player - but most who have played with him always seem to describe him as a big personality in the dressing room and suggest he was able to handle himself. Weird - as he still looks like a wee schoolboy anytime I see him. His story about chasing Sutton around and properly trying to break his legs in training 'cos Sutton was winding him up so much sounded like he wasn't joking.

I heard Ferry on the Off The Ball podcast saying that's planning on flying to Italy this summer to hopefully get an interview with Di Canio. That should be good.

I think the best interviews are with players who weren't genuine top-level athletes. If you're performing at that level, have that mental strength and that fitness - then there's less likelihood you're out on the piss, shagging, or getting up to high-jinx. Take Larsson as an example - he's boring as eff when interviewed. But probably explains why he was so dedicated and clinical as a player. That's why guys like Garry O'Connor and Andy McLaren are such good interviews. Same goes for footballer autobiographies - most of the top-level players ones are boring as eff.
McNamara always struck me as quite a hard player. Had a penchant for perfectly timed slide tackles that always left a bit on the attacker. Plus there’s that glorious photo of him cracking Hately.

Also remember him getting sent off for Falkirk a few years later for snapping someone out of nowhere.

He was brilliant for Killie, an absolute stand out in a very good Killie team at the time.

We went to Ibrox just before Christmas and would have gone into the winter break top of the league with a win. Lost 1-0, Varielle dislocated his shoulder and our season fizzled out.

I'm too young to remember him at the huns before the injury but he was still a cracking player after it and got quite a few Scotland caps with us.

I always thought he was a miserable git too prior to signing with us but met him a few times at fans functions and he was the complete opposite. Much preferred him to that pumpkin McCoist. Much more genuine.

You would think he should have given him the benefit of doubt seeing as English isn't his native language and the MSM can be total bawsacks.

He's clearly used that as an excuse. Strachan, of all people, knows fine well what the media are like. He's got highlight clips tearing the arse out of them going back 20 odd years.

DD

Haven’t seen the interview but would assume it’s Dermot.

I think DD’s boy is pally with Sheva, shared a few rounds of golf and what not. Sheva lives over by Wentworth I think, loves his golf and would have played some pro-ams etc.

Pretty sure I’ve seen him at CP on CL nights in the exec box.
