Celtic fans actively disliking McCoist are as bitter as Huns. He's a very likeable guy. He clearly gets on well with most people at Celtic and seems to have a lot of respect for the club, despite being a Hun.

Jim Kerr disagrees.

If McCoist wasn’t a hun he’d probably be pretty sound. Unfortunately he’s a hun who has spent the last 30 odd years trying to cement his hunnish credentials.

Agreed, spoke highly of the club, Paul McStay, and Tommy Burns. Yes he's a hun and when the football starts I dislike him as much as the rest of them, but off the pitch he seems like a lovely guy who's brand new. Do the people disliking him cause he's a hun not have any mates who are? :suspect:

Jeezo! When you think how discredited the Scottish media are now - it makes you wonder what Celtic supports actually believed any of the Scottish press back in the days when people still bought newspapers? Who encouraged them and who allowed them to continue their bullshampoo for so many years. But then you read a thread like this and realise they've not gone anywhere. They're still as gullible and as easily led.

McCoist is the pumpkin's pumpkin.

I'm 23 years old and don't read the papers whatsoever, someone can be a Hun and be a likeable person, they aren't mutually exclusive. The moment the football starts, we're enemies, but limiting your social circles based on the team you support or refusing to like someone cause they played for them etc is narrow minded imo.

FWIW and solely my own opinion MCoist is okay & comes across as a fairly good guy. I just think its hilarous he took 800k off of them as manager in Div 2 & 1 playing teams filled with part timers. Yet calls himself a "Rainjurs man".

That's quite a leap you've made there, from disliking McCoist to limiting my social circles based on the team someone supports. How the eff do you know who I hang around with?

The reference to social circles was referring to someone else who answered my previous post saying they didn't have any friends who were Rangers fans. But I could say the same thing for your assumption that my opinion of McCoist was formed through reading newspapers? I'm from East Kilbride and have met him a few times at functions and such in the town and he's always been thoroughly decent. I can understand not liking him as a player/manager for them, but as a person your opinion of someone shouldn't be made up of their football leanings. If he has horrible beliefs and politics then aye, that's fair, but cause he's a hun? That's not a reason to dislike someone overall

I didn't assume where you were from, simply said where I was from and that it's because of that I've met him a few times and have been able to form an opinion. I have no idea how you're forming your opinion, but a lot of people seem to dislike him because of who he's played for. If you have legitimate reasons then fair enough, but the point I was making was simply that people that refuse to like someone purely cause of their football team is pretty petty imo. If you want to engage with the points I'm making rather than just make everything I'm saying a personal affront to you when that wasn't the case, I'd be more than happy to actually have a reasonable discussion about it.

I dislike him because of how snide he was with the Cousin and McManus incident. Cousin was sent out there to hurt McManus and McCoist's congratulating of him for it while McManus lay unconscious was disgusting.

He's a sleekit fat carrot.

Any CFC fan who thinks that the Fat Gardener is anything but a sleekit Hun bastard must have come down in the last shower

TB was too nice a person to see through the chunt. However this is the guy who launched an outrageous assault on a Sheep goalkeeper, breaking his jaw in the process and who tried to wind up Lenny after his team had gubbed and lost their discipline.

Feck him and all Huns like him
