I've been heavily involved in helping to set up a new website called The Celtic Star which has now been running for just under 3 weeks. Some of you might already have registered with it.

Early doors but, I think it complements the Celtic fans forums really well and features, arguably, the best Celtic podcast on the internet at the moment, A Celtic State of Mind.

Feel free to critique in a KDS stylee (except for the look of it. That's a no-go area! ;) )

Where are all the pop up ads to ruin the experience?

A bit annoying to actually read an article from beginning to end without the screen moving.

Popped in today for the first time -- enjoyed the experience! Clean, clear and concise so well done to all involved. And, FWIW, unlike TT I haven't been bothered with spam since. I'll keep a watching brief, though.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Celtic State of Mind podcast with David Low, a guy I'm happy to go out of my way to listen to. It had sort of passed me by. When you think of how close we came to the abyss in those terrible days... :twitch:

Ads are terrible, had the same issue with spam emails.

Very good podcast though and tbh, that’s the sort of thing I like and will stay for.

Was there a split from CQN? PJD who runs it, is a decent bloke.

The whole back catalogue of podcasts are worth listening to. The Neil Lennon one is particularly good.

I haven't had the spam mail issue either so I can't really suggest anything on that. Re: adverts. I think they are less obtrusive on The Celtic Star than on most other Celtic news sites, so far.

Looks good Cartuja

Some comments:

- What is the difference between Welcome and About? The About seems to do the welcoming and the welcome tab seems pretty redundant at the moment
- There seems to be an issue with the banner loading on the Supporters section

That's it though. Looking forward to reading the content on there and it's in my favourites tab :)

Glad you’re enjoying the site. We’re looking to include as much original articles to complement the daily news (which should save fans from visiting SMSM sites).

There is currently a small team of writers including David Potter, Jim Craig and Kevin Graham. A few more should be on board soon.

As for the spam mail, we only use the registered email addresses to promote the site, podcast, and future book releases and events.

Really enjoying the site, been using it since it launched. Very good so far

One minor quibble, could you perhaps change the grey text on the white background when you click the hamburger menu? Finding that hard to make out and read. Looks like that when I browse on Chrome for Android and Safari for iOS.

Apart from that, looks great. Content is good too :)

The site is growning organically, albeit quickly. The initial idea was a personal WELCOME from Jim Craig who posts his daily diary It's a real privilege to have his support and contributions! I take on board that there might be some repetition on the ABOUT page and that might be something which will merge with welcome, down the line.

Not sure what you mean re: the Supporters section.

This seems to be a common glitch. Although this message comes up, your registration details do get deliverered and you should receive an email with assistance instructions. This is being done manually at the moment so, bear with the admin guys!

Any WordPress experts on here who have encountered a similar issue and can advise?

Site seems pretty good C - and the pods are a decent listen.
But what's with the host of the recent stats pod calling Tom Rogic, Tom Rodic?
And Simunovic, Simone-ovich?
I'm a pedantic fecker for these kind of things - gets on my goat.
I thought I'd heard all the variants for Rogic, but Rodic is a new one for me.
It's not even as if the guy has problems saying G's (which if he does I wouldn't have raised the issue)- but he can say Lustig, and Griffiths fine, but calls him Roditch?

Just don't get it.

Bet you get it all the time walking down the street and folk calling you Cartooja rather than Cartooha...

I pronounce Rogic differently every time I say it! LOL
