CELTIC are facing a humiliating Champions League defeat against Alashkert according to their former boss Abraham Khashmanyan.

Khashmanyan was in charge of the Armenian side when they shocked St Johnstone in the Europa League in 2015.

And he reckons the Hoops could suffer this time when they travel to the former Soviet state in their first of a possible four qualifying rounds.

Khashmanyan said: “Celtic are a good team who always play in the Champions League, but for me there is not much difference in Scottish football between the top teams in the league.

“And Alashkert have already proved we are good enough to beat a Scottish team — and they are better than that now.

“Celtic are not insurmountable, far from it.

“There’s no reason why Armenian football cannot triumph.”
Ah yes, famously, there's never been much difference between Celtic and the mighty St Johnstone.
Didny do that well against them last year. Just the five points.

Two defenders out due to involvement in World Cup 1/4 finals or even semis, at least we have a left back...

Anybody actually get this link to work?

Seemed to initially go to a blank screen, then to their Q&A page for unsubscribing. No actual info on the game being shown live that I have seen.

Also, If you click through their schedule to 10 July they are apparently showing Polish Speedway at 5pm.

Dont think Rogic will play with Brendan saying the players will get a 2 week break when their world cup is over. Also think McGregor is a cert.

I'm not worried because I think we still have the team to coast through this. But the defence is starting to give me the fear. No right back unless we give Ralston a shot. No Lustig or Boyata either. Looks to me like it'll be wing backs again.

- - - - - Gordon - - - - -
- Hendry Ajer Jozo -
Forrest - - - - - Tierney
- - Brown Ntcham - -
- - - - McGregor - - - -
- Dembele Edouard -

Pretty decent team on paper. If we turn up, we'll win comfortably.

:lol: seriously?

Worry about Rosenborg. The chances of this Celtic team having a red imps first leg in Armenia is close to zero. And whatever happens over there we’ll wipe the effing floor with them at CP.

Far superior players, manager and resources.

thats if rosenborg make it through

@aHellofaBeating
Rosenborg with some bad injury news:
- Quality winger Samuel Adegbenro had been expected back around now after being out for most of season, but need new op and out for at least 3 more months
- Central midfield starter Anders Konraden injured in last game & now out for 6-8 weeks

@Craig_Honeyman
Jacob Rasmussen from @RBKfotball to Empoli. What a signing that is for the Italians. Remember the name. In three / four years times he will be playing for a top Champions League level club and will have cost a fortune.

Assuming Rosenborg do go through (and us of course :ph43r: ) how easy would it be to get a couple of tickets for the away leg if you don't meet the criteria?

Same question for the Icelandic side if they get through. Cheers.

Rosenberg you'll get a ticket fine, went first come first serve last season. Iceland, depends what ground the game is at. When we played stjarnan we only got about 150ish tickets but everyone who travelled got one. Time before that in Iceland we got a good few hundred tickets which was more than enough.
