I like to think of myself as a citizen of the world - I’m pro Europe as well and I welcome the changes it has seen over th years but Armenia ina. European qualifier still makes me go ‘whit? Where?’ That's in Asia

I’m old obvs

As for Rosenburg - this is what we need to beat to get into the CL - so might as well get it done at whatever stage - I’m of the opinion we should be better at this now - but I’ve been wrong before

Assuming we both get there, the Rosenborg game is not the worst team we could have got, but it's far from the best. If we're prepared then we should progress. If they catch us cold at the start of our season then it could be another tough couple of games. At least we know what we're up against - although they could say the same.

Lost at the end of the day was the draw for the 2nd round of the champions route of the Europa league - for teams eliminated from the CL before R2. If Alashkert managed to turn us over we would face the loser from the Astana v Sutjeska tie.

Do Rosenberg have any big handsome defensive linchpins we could buy before we play them - strengthening us and weakening them?

The big difference between last year and this year will be that we'll have a fit striker against Rosenborg. We had Forrest playing up front against them last time. A fit Dembele, Griffiths or Edouard will make us a different proposition.

Should also have a full standing section without any closed areas and a decent atmosphere for any game against them this year too. Last year's tie was a weird one all round with no fit strikers and next to no noise from the crowd.

It was a Soviet state, so they got to choose whether they wanted to be in UEFA or the Asian one. Only been 25+ years.

Rosenberg are 3rd in their league at moment. The only thing they should have on us is fitness with their league currently running, but we have managed this far better in recent seasons and out short close season helps us. We will also have players coming back from the work cup who will be fit and ready to go.

But what if the all get injured pre season? Where will we be then? I think we need a 4th striker just in case.

Not content with drenched underwear over on the transfer (or lack thereof) thread, it's broken out here today. Yes I know it's the CL and that's where the big boys play, but look in the mirror and recognise we are one of the bigger boys!

All three teams will be thinking the draw could have been a whole lot kinder to them than pairing them against Celtic FC
True, and to be expected because we are the seeded team.

But playing Rosenborg in the second qualifying round of a potential four, in what will be only our third and fourth competitive games of the season when they are already well underway with theirs, is all a bit :twitch:

Do I think we will get through...yes. Am I happy with the draw...no. Where is the problem in saying that?
Your response is slightly less dramatic than others who you would think we have drawn PSG never mind a team not at the top of the Norwegian League....

Pretty straight forward 1st round win but definitely a tough one against Rosenberg. Wasn’t straight forward last year against them :ph43r:

You shouldn't, he is more than able to put a few in against our defense.

He's got that many in 12 games against teams not remotely as good as us in their league.
