Jimmy Quinn - 217
John Hughes - 189
Sandy McMahon - 171
Jimmy McMenemy - 168
Kenny Dalglish - 167
Adam McLean - 138
Willie Wallace - 135
Dixie Deans - 132
Jinky Johnstone - 130
Tommy McInally - 127
John Campbell - 123
Brian McClair - 122
Bobby Collins - 116
Frank McGarvey - 113
John Hartson - 109
Bobby Murdoch - 102
Celtic wiki has Joe Cassidy on 104 goals
celtic underground retweeted this earlier, link to celtics 100 top scorers https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1cHb4s0InFXqlGpShU0HG88XlyUMt2ujzgZ_PRlfSHKA/edit#gid=0

that has cassidy on 103 though so not sure which is correct

if rest of it is accurate griffiths should be aiming for top 20 next season

Closing in on that 100 goals. Very few have done that in our history. I guess he will be the first pish player to do it...
Explain
Closing in on that 100 goals.

This part means Leigh scored his 98th goal for us yesterday, thus he is very close to reaching 100. 99 comes next. And then 100.

Very few have done that in our history.

A limited number of players in Celtic's 130 year history have managed to score 100 goals. A list has been provided above of the names.

I guess he will be the first pish player to do it...

Many posters on here do not like Leigh as a man and/or think he is of low footballing quality, not good enough to play for Celtic and should be sold to the first bidder. Ergo, in their eyes, he will be the first player of such limited ability to score 100 goals for the club.
 Explained it was.

He shouldn't play against Hibs. His body language through the warm up and start of the match was that of reluctant hero. He loves the Hibees, and us. But that got in the way, I think.

The naivety in his game showed today.

There is loads he does right, but when things don't go his way he snatches at chances, doesn't control simple passes and loses his battles.

No excuse. He's a pro and knows who pays his wages.
Will be third choice, if he's around, next season.

Just ignoring he scored the winner against them last time then?

This imaginary hang up he has about playing Hibs had nothing to do with the fact he, like all the others, simply wasn't good enough today. The failed stepover before he was hooked epitomized our performance as a team. That said, if Rogic had been more clinical we'd be talking about two assists.

And he's more likely to be here next season than the two you've got ahead of him

If Celtic pay what PSG ask, Edouard will be ahead of him.
If Dembele goes, his replacement will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Griffiths is too inconsistent to count on, his best chance will be if Rodgers moves on.

If he’s still here, and the other two aren’t then I hope we bring in another 2 to be ahead of him.

He does not have what it takes to be our number 1 striker in terms of our style of play and also because his team are in our league.

When fit, he's been no more inconsistent than Dembele has this season, and has an almost identical goals to minutes ratio without taking pens. As for Eduoard, I still don't think he's a replacement for Moussa or a lone frontman at all. His best games have all come playing just off the main striker.

Not trying to defend his performance today. Nobody gets pass marks. But the point about him somehow deliberately lowering his standard against Hibs lacks substance.

It's grating at this stage that his antics after games get more attention than when he is on the pitch.
OK, we all love seeing the huns being wound up, but he appoints himself as some kind of court jester.
He'd be a good striker with a lot of clubs, but he's way below Celtic's requirements.

I get how he splits opinion, especially when we have two other top quality strikers but I can't get how people can say he's below our requirements when he's 2 goals off 100. As third choice strikers go we'll not get anyone as good.

It's not about him "deliberately" doing anything. That suggests he made a choice. Or that he's inconsistent. My point was that, watching him during the warm up, he seemed lacking in focus. He didn't want to be too much of a Celt. His head was down when he often struts. We needed him 100% from the off. It looked like something was already missing.
