FFS people getting pissed off because Leigh never celebrated :ffs: He scored against his boyhood team and, to be honest, I would never celebrate if I scored against my team Celtic.. The fact is, he scored for us and that's the main thing
it is a celtic forum

i know you get a hard time from some poster on here

but comments like that are not going to help

all you need to say is against my team

you don't have to add Celtic - if you post on here we kind of already take it for granted we all support the hoops

hamster and a couple of others exempt of course

I'd much rather he didn't celebrate all the time, than to go bonkers and get himself booked or banned tbh. ☺

I think the no celebrating lark is nonsense. If i was talented enough to play the game professionaly and scored against Celtic I'd go effing wild. I've said it before Griffiths did it today that it shows a lack of respect to the club who pays you and fans who cheer you. As for Larsson I wouldn't have minded if he celebrated but it was more understandable that he didn't because he had just left us after seven years at the club. It was also more of a rare occurance back then rather than players having a list of teams they won't celebrate against.

Yes and I don't feel any different about Griffiths because he didn't celebrate. I just think the whole practice of not celebrating we now have in the game is a bit meh.

When Larsson scored against us I didn't see many on here complaining when he didn't celebrate, the guy loves hibs and he shouldn't be slated for not celebrating, personally I think it's quite admirable.
Was this forum even a thing when Larsson scored against us?

14th September 2004.

We DID have a forum before 2004

I can't remember what it was called but it lasted for many years and no doubt many from here will reminisce.

He scored and we won. Couldn't give a eff how he celebrates or if he celebrates at all. There are (or at least were) folk on here who would insist that they wouldn't celebrate if Leigh Griffiths scored for us, FFS.

Hopefully he's back from his injury fairly quickly. He's one of the few sparks we have in the team at the moment.

I don't know any Celtic fan who would go 'effing wild' were they to score against Celtic. Very strange behaviour indeed imo.

Got us the points today and has now crossed 'never does it against Hibs' off the long list of lazy criticisms aimed his way. Hope he's back soon because the other options aren't at the races just now.

Back in the fifties and sixties players used to only celebrate with their teammates, and the fans were not really acknowledged. I think it was in the seventies that the trend towards celebrating with the fans started.
