Griff comes on last night, makes a notable impact which pretty much changes the game, scores the winner and the usual suspects are homing in on any old excuse to have a go at him. The support in general see the guy for what he offers, hard work and GOALS.

He’s no angel and has never pretended to be one but he’s not exactly a war criminal. This thread is something else

I’ve never heard anyone mention the lack of strength of domestic competition when looking at Dembeles performances.
When people talk about Dembele's performances they very rarely mention anything he's done in the SPFL.

It's all centered around his performances against top class centre halfs in Europe.
Is that why his nickname last year was the hunskelper.

Any one who scores vs rangers is called a Hunskelper.

If you think people are judging Dembele on what he does in the SPFL then it goes some way to explaining some peoples opinions on here of how good a Celtic striker should be.

Griffiths has scored more in Europe last two seasons than Dembélé but keep digging that hole . :brickwall:

Wondered on to this thread this morning and I had the exact same reaction as Wailer.

Anybody who saw Nicholas first time round and thinks Lee is a better player I personally can't fathom but each to their own opinion.

Off the top of my head he isn't better than McClair/Johnston (Petit Merde variety)/McAvennie/Sutton/Bellamy and Hartson was a much more clinical finisher than Lee.
Three of whom effed off at the first available opportunity. As well as being in the same general area for output as those mentioned, Griffiths is seemingly happy where he is - a rarity these days.
Ha!

If Griffiths becomes good enough that EPL teams want him then he’ll be off as quick as every other carrot.

No one else wanting him does not equal him not wanting to leave.

Linked with Swansea this window, could be paper talk of course but I'd say Griff is happy where he is anyway.

If I have one criticism it's his hair. It's a mess. He'd be better off growing it, get a bit of volume into it. But, he's a daft laddie- he'll do what he wants.

Dembele's hair is significantly better. I'm not sure I've seen enough of Edouard's hair yet to be sure that it could be better

Nah. The Griff's quiff is sublime. Far more technical than Dembele's doo. Only creeps think otherwise.

Wrong and wrong again

As for this thread, comparisons with ex-players is a waste of bandwidth. What’s important is that Griffiths scores goals and generally makes Celtic a better team when he’s involved.

All things considered I’d prefer to have Griffiths and £20m of Dembele money available to strengthen the first team than having to rely on Moussa with the £6-7m we’d get for Griffiths. Whether we’d actually reinvest much/anything is another issue altogether.

Do you think the team is better when Griffiths is playing as opposed to Dembele?

I’ve always said that I would play Dembele ahead of Griffiths, however Griffiths would find it hard to score against the likes of PSG,Man City and BMG when he wasn’t playing. You might not rate the 2 goals he scored against Be’er Sheva, however these got us in the CL being worth millions to us and certainly worth more than Dembele’s goal in a 7-1 defeat v PSG.
