If the best player in the SPFL outside of Celtic can't get into our team then the best player in the Championship is going to struggle.

It sounds like he is a good prospect but it sounds like we are signing him out of fear of missing out on what he could be as opposed to how he will benefit the team now.

If it pushes people like Mikey Johnstone further back in the pecking order then I'm not sure its a good thing.

Johnstone is 3 years younger than Morgan but probably at a crucial stage in his career where exposure to the first team could be the making of him.

Johnstone could do with some time on loan to be honest. He's skillful and extremely quick but he needs to bulk up a bit, he's awfully lightweight which is natural at his age but it's something he needs to work on. Although I reckon there's already a visible difference between last season and this season so he's clearly putting the work in.

I'd rather see him stay here and develop in the same way Tierney did tbh. He's more likely to bulk up at Celtic than he is anywhere else.

18 year olds all over the world are playinf competitive first team football in leagues better than ours. He looks like he has the talent to go all the way.

Have any of our players in recent times who have gone on loan in Scotland made it with us as first team regular?

It seems like a bit of an graveyard for potential Celtic careers, contrast that with Tierney, Maloney, McGeady, McManus who were all developed via first team exposure.

He's badly out of form but it obviously worked with McGregor and, um, Dalglish.

Whether it works or not, it shows if players are up to it not. I don't remember any going out on loan, not making at Celtic, yet being stars elsewhere.

I've never seen Morgan play. I'm not Scottish but I like it when Celtic buys young Scottish talent. I realize that the days of the entire squad coming from within a 30 mile radius of Glasqow are gone forever, but I like it that these days there can 5-6-7 Scots in the line-up on a given game.

Are we really buying Morgan because we want him, or is he another Scott Allen, who was purchased as a GIRYU to sevco? Paraded out on Parkhead, a few cameos then shipped off on loan never to be seen again.

If Morgan is now a Celtic player and is now on-loan to Dundee to the end of the season, who pays his salary, us or them? If he was to suffer a career-ending injury while playing with Dundee, then we are stuck holding the bag?

We're buying him because we don't want him. It's a bold strategy but let's see if it pays off.

I致e seen a lot of Mikey Johnston who has been a standout talent since a very young age. He has all the attributes to play at a high level.

More recent times, it痴 helped McGregor and Ajer.

Put this in the transfer window thread and reposting it here

My mate is a St.Mirren season ticket holder, so when im not at parkhead or working i go to some games with him. Morgans first full season was last year, swept PoY awards cause he was the only guy who performed even with alex rae as manager. Started this season on fire, like motm for the first 8/9 games. Since international break in oct hes not been as strong, although wouldn't be surprised if thats when rodgers showed his interest and hes let that get to him.

Pros: Very quick over 10yards, 2 footed (hits corners or long range shots with either), good strike on him, very good dribbler and close control. Strong for a wee guy.

Cons: shooting can vary widely in quality, apparently been poor since oct/nov (though i think this is do with speculation), can choose the wrong option a lot of the time.

From what ive seen/heard more potential than Kenny Mclean or John Mcginn when they came out of st.mirren, so defo worth the punt, but not the finished article.

Also apparently Brendan and Jack Ross have a close personal relationship which is probably why hes getting loaned back and talk of liam henderson going the other way (dont think that will or should happen)
Don't how close Jack Ross and Brendan Rodgers are but I did think it was interesting that in one of St Mirren's social media videos Ross was asked who his biggest managerial influence was, and his answer was Brendan. That might indicate some truth in what you're saying.

I do think he's an excellent coach and if the stars align there's a good chance he'll end up with us after Brendan goes.

Probably not the right thread for this but does anyone think young Karamoko Dembele will be here long enough to make his debut?

I noticed England made his their captain in an U15 game recently. Got a horrible feeling he値l end up getting poached by one of the EPL big hitters.

Really want to see this lad play for us.

What a roaster that wee lad feruz is btw? Destined for lower tier football

Interesting now that Feruz says he made a HUGE mistake leaving Celtic when he did. What a wasted talent.
