Text my mate who's a St Mirren fan for his thoughts;

"He's excellent. Probably the most exciting prospect we've had recently including McGinn, McLean etc. He could be a superstar as he's quick skillful and scores.

If he had more than 6 months on his contract I reckon he'd be going for a 7 figure sum. You're getting him on the cheap

He's essentially got us to the top of the table. Take him out and we won't win the league."
That's all very good to hear but McGinn or McLean would not get a game for us.

Plenty of people wanted McGinn signed when he was plodding along in the Championship he this seems to not have been as welcomed.

Hmmm.
:ponder:

Hardly any negativity.
It's the usual suspects.

I think we need a KDS whelm-ometer. So we can gauge where we're at with each signing and/or rumour.

Very underwhelming to be honest,if he was good enough to be playing for us there is no chance he would be being loaned back to St Mirren.
Be as well telling Christie not to bother booking his return train home in the Summer then.

Seems like a decent addition. But we should also be investing in players who can come straight into the first team.

Being the undoubted star performer of a pretty decent Championship side at 21 is impressive. It suggests the lad has character as well as skill.

It all really depends on how he applies himself when he comes here, but for £300k or whatever I can't see what's wrong with taking the punt on a promising young Scottish kid.

And on his age, and the division he's playing in... Jamie Vardy was playing in the eigth tier of English football at the age Morgan is now. As Vardy himself demonstrated, the right mix of character and skill will get you to the top, regardless of where you start from. If Rodgers thinks Morgan could have that mix, then let's go for him.

The Vardy point is a good one.

As one of the best scottish prospects at the moment, Id rather we got him, had a look and gave him the chance and if it doesnt work out - so be it. If it does, then brilliant. Than some other SPL team take him and he turns out to be brilliant. The fee & wages will be a drop in the ocean for us. Potential reward > risk.

Open mind, know nothing about him but If I could choose where and how we found players who can make the grade at celtic id rather it was home grown scottish players who cost not a lot.

good luck to him, hopefully he meets the level BR wants and is a success at the club.

Strange one IMO

We have Rogic, Armstrong, Ntcham, McGregor, Christie returning etc etc that can play the AMC spot - if we are going to strengthen it should be with someone that are better than those, don't see Morgan as such

he can play out wide, isn't better than Forrest IMO, not anywhere near the quality of Roberts - If/when Roberts is leaving we would have Forrest with Morgan as backup, as good as Forrest has been this season, it is a serious downsizing of the team

Morgan is hardly a kid anymore, will be 22 when he joins in the summer, he would need regular football to progress not to sit on the bench only playing when Forrest is out injured or we have 3 of the players that can play AMC out

--

that said hoping that he will blow everybody away and progress to becoming a class player
Armstrong wont be here much longer, McGregor hasn't been good at all in there lately and Ntcham hasn't played in that position once since arriving. Which leaves Rogic and Christie, with Rogic having been injured for much of the season and Christie not been at the club for around a year.
so take 4½ of our current players out of the picture and you feel that Morgan have a chance of making it to the bench?
Good reading between the lines there mate.

Season ticket holder, youth player and mascot... all the bear necessities.

Decent football brain already evident though in leaving that mob.

Seems like a good prospect, similar to Christie.

Hopefully he will be ready to play in the first team by the summer. Have a feeling Hayes will be punted by then and Morgan will be back-up for Sinclair.

Obviously one for the future. Armstrong probably won't hang about but there's Rogic and I wonder what it means for Christie.
