:twitch: Christie isn't getting a regular game with Aberdeen. He won't ever be Rogic, or anyone else's, replacement.
Probably in the same way that Roberts isn’t getting regular games for us.

Regardless of how Rogic's situation ends up, both Morgan and Christie will get the pre season with us and a decision will be made on the latter towards the end of the window. That is unless someone is willing to offer money for him that we find difficult to turn down, which is unlikely.

I can't really see that there will be a future for Christie in a Rodgers managed Celtic squad if he doesn't form part of the first team squad come the end of the summer window next season.

I don't see us signing Morgan to simply punt him out on loan immediately. A player like that needs exposure to our standards and way of doing things under the coaching staff. Perhaps in January depending on how he has faired in the first half of the season, but I don't think it would happen before then.

Rodgers has already said he expects Christie to be in our first team next season. I imagine if Rogic goes, Christie is his natural successor

We've watched Christie for years. He's not good enough to replace Rogic, I personally don't think he's got it in him to have a career at Celtic.

He's another Henderson.

That's the point I'm making. Two and a half years ago, Rogic had already been at Celtic for about three years. He'd been on loan and come back and there were still plenty of people who couldn't see what he brought to the team.

Then again, there were a few people saying on the match thread that we were pish in the first half on Sunday!

Rogic spent most of his career permanently injured. Or on loan to some aussie team which we barely got a look at him.

We've watched Christie from ICT and 18 months at Aberdeen. He doesn't have it to replace a player of Rogic talent, quite bluntly he's not remotely good enough.

If Celtic allow this situation to pass ( and I don't think they will) it would be a phenomenal disappointment.

He had one loan out to an Aussie team for half a season, having already been with the first team squad for a year without making much of an impression. From what I remember back then pretty much everyone was baffled by his signing and thought Lennon had gotten a bung from his agent to bring him in. Rogic took a good while to settle, and even when he started playing people thought he wasn't good enough cause he was blowing out of his arse after 45 minutes. It's the player he's developed into since then that's so important to us, not the one we signed back then.

Injury is fair, but Christie has hardly been bad or anonymous on his loan spells out and he has natural ability. If you look at several player's transformation having played under Rodgers then there's no reason why Ryan Christie also couldn't progress. Is he as good as Tam now? No. But he could develop to be as important as us if he fulfils his potential. Losing Rogic would be a blow, and we'd be poorer for it, but it's a bigger risk paying big money for someone to replace him without knowing if they'll actually be good enough than to give a chance to a home grown talent who could develop well. Hopefully it doesn't come to pass and Rogic decides his future is with us, but we'd be daft not to be considering what to do should he goes, and I have no doubt the first option would be giving a chance to people at the club already

I'll disagree to nearly all of that, other than we should keep Tom.

Christie can't now get a game for a very very poor Aberdeen. Rodgers has also had a look at Christie and twice farmed him out.

I'd be far more surprised if Christie gets a game for Celtic next year, never mind replaces our most skilful player.
Edit- The signings of Musonda, Hayes, Morgan and attempts at Roberts again will put him further down the pecking order. If in fact he can get any lower on it.

Got a friend who's a big Saints fan saying word round the club is he'll be going back to work with Ross again next season since they've been promoted as Rodgers wants him to get regular game time in the SPFL
Doubt it.
Can’t see him breaking into our team next season.

Sounds about right
We’ll see. I’d be very surprised if he is on loan again next season.

He’s a uniquely talented player who would be very hard to replace unless we spent money way-out of our current spending potential.

Not really

Di Canio
Lubo
Naka
Rogic

None of them were big money signings and those are probably the 4 most gifted players we’ve had in the last 30years.

Are we just going to loan out players like Christie and Morgan indefinitely?
I think Christie and Allen will be sold. Sinclair too if the price is right.
Rodgers has already said he expects Christie to be in our first team next season. I imagine if Rogic goes, Christie is his natural successor

I get your point but the 3 players you mentioned weren’t around in the time of the basket case that is European football transfers that we have now (caused by that carrot sky and English football).
